As Child Support Awareness Month comes to a close, let's reflect on what the dedicated work of the child support community accomplished in 2025.

In the U.S. over 12 million children received support from child support programs. That's 1 in 6 children who benefited from receiving over $29.3 billion in support.

These programs aren't just statistics; they are lifelines providing essential resources to families that ensure children grow up healthy and thriving.

Grateful for the opportunity to join colleagues from across Ohio including Amy Roehrenbeck, Ohio Child Support Professionals Association Executive Director, and Deputy James Dawson from the Wayne County Sheriff's Office at the Domestic Violence Symposium hosted by ODJFS/Office of Child Support in collaboration with the Ohio Safe Access for Victims’ Economic Security (SAVES) Team.
This symposium underscored our collective commitment to creating meaningful dialogue and developing solutions that support survivors who are involved with or could benefit from the services offered through Ohio’s child support program. The day featured expert speakers, valuable networking, and thoughtful panel discussions.

A sincere thank you to ODJFS/OCS and the SAVES Team for bringing partners together to strengthen access, safety, and support for survivors across Ohio.

Are you a father to be ? OCF offers guidance to help.

Finding out you’re about to become a father can feel exciting, overwhelming, and a little uncertain. The OCF offers guidance to help fathers-to-be navigate this important season and support both mom and baby from the start. Here are ten ways fathers-to-be can help.

Be positive and offer support, attend the ultrasound and get a picture of your baby, encourage three nutritious meals a day and healthy snacks, attend a fatherhood program, establish paternity, encourage breastfeeding, create a smoke-free environment, accompany the mother-to-be to medical appointments, create a safe and peaceful home, and avoid drugs and alcohol.
