We are excited to share this article highlighting our vision for a new Wooster Township Fire station. As our community continues to grow, so does the need for a facility that allows us to provide the safest, most effective emergency services possible. One statement from the article says it best: "The new station will dramatically improve response times for more than 60% of township residents." This project is about more than a building. It's about protecting our community, supporting future growth, improving firefighter safety, and ensuring we are prepared to serve the citizens of Wooster Township for decades to come. Thank you to everyone who has supported this effort so far. We invite you to read the article and learn more about this important project.

The fire department says its Heyl Road project is 63% funded and aims to improve coverage, response times and safety.

Each year, members of Wooster Twp. Fire Dept. take part in our annual flag detail remembering those who served before us. Remembering our past is more than honoring history, it helps guide our future. The values, traditions, and sense of service carried by those before us continue to pave the way for the next generation of firefighters/EMT’s.

A big thank you to Paramedic Cody Shetler from Cleveland Clinic Critical Care Transport for spending his evening with our department during drill night. Cody worked with our crews reviewing landing zone operations and discussing ways we can continue to strengthen the teamwork between ground EMS and air medical crews. Opportunities like this help ensure we are prepared to work together seamlessly when our community needs us most.

He also invited his friends to stop by in their helicopter, giving our crews a great opportunity to see the aircraft up close and continue building relationships with our air medical partners.

We appreciate the time, training, and partnership!

This week, we proudly recognize National EMS Week and the dedicated EMTs and paramedics who serve our community every single day.

Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) are highly trained professionals who provide lifesaving medical care during emergencies. From heart attacks and serious injuries to helping someone on their worst day, EMS providers are often the first line of care when minutes matter most. Their ability to stay calm, make critical decisions, and provide compassionate care is essential to the safety and well-being of our community.

At Wooster Twp. Fire Department, our EMS personnel answer the call 24/7 with professionalism, dedication, and heart. Whether it’s a late night medical emergency, a difficult rescue, or simply comforting a patient in need, their commitment never goes unnoticed. We want to extend a sincere thank you to all of the EMS guys and gals at WTFD for your hard work, sacrifice, and countless hours spent serving others. Your dedication to this community does not go unappreciated.

Happy National EMS Week from all of us at Wooster Twp. Fire Department.
