Today instructors from the New Pittsburg, Town and Country, and Wooster Township Fire Departments worked together to provide CPR/AED/Choking training to 40 students from Mrs. Melegari's 8th grade classes from Northwestern middle school. These are life saving skills that these kids can take with them, and hopefully if they would ever need them be able to help those having an emergency. Thank you to all the instructors, students, and Mrs. Melegari for allowing us to have this opportunity.

This week at Pittsburg Fire EMT monthly training, we put our skills to the test with a hands-on proficiency night. 🚑🔥

Five stations were set up covering:• Basic vital signs• Airway management• Cardiac care• Trauma response• Medication therapy

It was a great opportunity to sharpen our skills, stay prepared, and work together as a team. Always a fun and valuable night of training!

Along with every other department in the county here is the info on the fire last night that we assisted Apple Creek Fire on. It was a awesome demonstration of interoperability of fire departments that never worked with each other before coming together and assisting.

Station 2 responded first due to a mulch fire with a full crew of five — marking the first time the Station 2 engine has responded with a crew of five firefighters.

Upon arrival, crews found multiple piles of mulch and two conveyor belts on fire. Thanks to the quick response and teamwork of the crews, the situation was quickly brought under control and further damage was prevented.

Great job by everyone involved in mitigating the incident safely and efficiently! A special thank you to our fellow departments that gave us mutual aid. Clinton Township Fire & Rescue, Wooster Township Fire and Rescue, and Jeromesville Fire Department. We really appreciate the help and support.
