Lower Providence Community - Did you know the Lower Providence Board of Supervisors are voting on May 2 to change the zoning regulations to allow RHD to build a homeless shelter at the Eagleville Mental Hospital / Correctional Facility. Facts – no impact study was done and there is a great deal of misinformation about how the facility will and will not be used. The zoning language if very vague. Answers have not been provided to the community and the current proposal does NOT state that approval is conditioned on a specific use for the facility nor does it include prohibitions. Please come on May 2nd and ask the board to hold on the vote until we have a public townhall to get our questions answered, be transparent about how RHD and their performance / track record. outline the oversight. This is a very complex issues and this board has an ethical obligation to do their due diligence, involve the community and provide complete and factual transparent answers. Learn more here:

We want to thank everyone involved in the campaign for every bit of help and time they sacrificed. And to those who supported us throughout this campaign, we am truly honored!

We can’t tell you how privileged we were to work with so many great people. It was an experience we won’t forget, on many levels. We are grateful for the many people we met along the way and the new friendships forged over the past 9 months.

We would like to congratulate Methacton Together on their victory. They have been blessed to help shape the destiny of Methacton School District - no easy task.

Our hope is that all who serve on this new school board keep the students, teachers, and community at the forefront of their future decisions, fulfill campaign promises, and measure results and impact and quickly adjust accordingly.

My name is Sheila Smith, I am running for Methacton School Board Director and I am asking for your vote. There are currently 7 seats available. Currently all 9 seats are held by one political party – CARE / Methacton Together for the past 8 years. As a result, over these past 8 years, our taxes have increased over 20% yet our ranking, enrollment, and teacher retention have plummeted. WHY and what will be different now?

I am NOT a politician. I am a mother, neighbor, and taxpayer who votes for the most qualified candidate not party lines. I have been an MSD parent, volunteer, and part of this community for the past 21 years. I feel every voter has the right to know where a candidate stands. As a school board director, I will ask and answer the tough questions and provide the data for all decisions. I will represent ALL students, teachers, community members and taxpayers – not just those who think like me. America was built on diversity.

Diversity and inclusion provide organizations with many benefits, including better financial results, access to talent, innovation, and improved problem solving.
