The shop is back open today, and it's because of you.

Saturday's Bag Sale cleared our racks: 504 bags sold and $2,588 raised. Every bag that left was an act of belief in the women and children we serve, and it becomes real safety, hope, and dignity for families rebuilding their lives.

TODAY IS WOMEN'S EQUALITY DAY

On August 26, 1920, the 19th Amendment was certified, prohibiting states from denying the vote based on s*x. But that promise did not reach all women equally or all at once. For millions of women across the country, discriminatory laws and practices kept the right to vote out of reach for decades still to come. It took until the Voting Rights Act of 1965, forty-five years later, for that promise to begin to be enforced for all women.

That history matters here. Equality has never been one finish line. It is ongoing work, and it looks different for every woman depending on what stands in her way.

That is why our work is so important. Every woman who finds safe shelter, a stable home, and the support to move forward is one step closer to the equality this day was created to demand.
