On the last day of the school year, Worcester Cultural Academy celebrated the milestone by honoring our students with perfect attendance and enjoying a science experiment demonstration from our rising 7th graders. Thank you to the WCA community for a wonderful year of joy and learning!

For their latest field study, our 6th graders were at The Hanover Theatre and Conservatory for the Performing Arts to create shadow puppets. Extending the science curriculum into the field, students explored the properties of light and how it interacts with various materials.

It was a perfect example of how Worcester Cultural Academy brings curriculum to life through its partnerships with cultural institutions that work with us to align their programs with what our students learn in school!

Our Kindergarten students have been exploring the world-class cultural institutions in our area: Botanic Gardens at Tower Hill and Old Sturbridge Village. The students reinforced their classroom learning and the Tower Hill experience when they visited OSV’s cabinet shop to see how trees provide wood for humans to make houses, furniture, and toys.

Our Kindergarteners then learned about the needs of the sheep, and how we use their wool to create clothing and other useful objects for humans.

It was a wonderful two days of outside education last week, building on what students have been learning in the classroom this year!

History came to life today in the 3rd grade Wax Museum with the students’ assuming the roles of famous historical figures. Our students researched their lives, dressed up as the famous people, and stood still until we pressed a button, at which point they came to life to deliver a speech about who they are and their historical impact. Well done 3rd graders!

Congratulations to all our 5th graders who presented their Passages and showed a panel that they are truly mission ready to graduate to middle school. Their courage, perseverance, and growth were on full display, and we could not be prouder!

Thank you to our panelists, families, staff, board members, and community members whose support, encouragement, and thoughtful feedback helped make this meaningful milestone possible.

Worcester Cultural Academy’s 4th graders led our entire school community through their favorite books and acted out the most meaningful scenes, connecting them to our school’s Habits of Character.

They displayed poise, confidence, and command of the room as they brought to life the characters from the stories. Well done as stewards of WCA during your Community Circle!

Geometry is all around us! Worcester Cultural Academy’s 1st graders took a hands-on approach to learning math by finding and recording geometric shapes around the classroom. Take a look around you – do you see the same shapes as our first graders have?

Worcester Cultural Academy’s Kindergarten class were amazing leaders of our school during their Community Circle! They represented their countries and the packed room of students, staff, and families were overjoyed when they paraded around the room with their handmade flags. Thank you, Kindergarten, for leading such a fun and inspiring Community Circle!
