Worcester Historical Society board member Audrey Richardson is inviting military veterans to join in on the "Honor Walk" she hopes will be included in Worcester's July 4th parade beginning at 11:00 AM.

Worcester veteran Clifford Mullen (1SG, US Army
Retired) shared this note: "To the various Veterans who might read this: one or two Vets who I have spoken to, about being in the parade, have expressed doubts, saying that their uniform doesn’t fit anymore, or words to that effect. So, I am going to exercise my authority as a retired First Sergeant of Infantry (unless superseded by someone from the echelons above reality) and designate a Veterans’ duty uniform for the parade, and that is:
1- Be as presentable as you can. Defining presentable, we can leave to your own discretion.
2- If you have your old ribbon bar, or a piece of headgear (“Cover” for any Marines), feel free to add those.
End State: we would really like to see the Town Veterans turn out. This year it is particularly appropriate.
I hope to see you at the parade; I’ll be easy to spot, I’ll have my (obsolete) Class B Greens with doodads on. The Rally Point is normally the small field, 300 meters south of LBJs, on the East side of Rte 12. Google Earth says it is 95 Worcester Village Rd."

If you can be part of our celebration, please contact Audrey as soon as possible so that she can inform the parade organizers. Feel free to call with questions, too. Audrey Richardson, 802-223-3921. AND PLEASE SHARE THIS POST!
