Col. Timothy Bigelow Chapter, DAR

Col. Timothy Bigelow Chapter, DAR The Col. Timothy Bigelow Chapter, DAR was chartered on August 9, 1899 by the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR).

The Colonel Timothy Bigelow Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution is located in Worcester, Massachusetts. The Chapter is named in honor of Col. Timothy Bigelow, an American Patriot who served in the Revolutionary War. It was on the Worcester Common that Colonel Bigelow led and trained his company of minute men to prepare

for a march from Worcester to Cambridge in 1775. A monument on Worcester Common honors this distinguished hero to this day. In 1914, the chapter members purchased their chapter house, "The Oaks." This house is one of the oldest surviving homes in Worcester remaining on its original foundation.
