🌈 Pride Month reminds us that every person deserves dignity, belonging, safety, and the freedom to live fully as themselves.

At Pathways for Change, we know healing does not happen alone. It grows when people feel believed, valued, protected, and connected.

Right now, many LGBTQ+ people are facing exclusion, hostility, and uncertainty at a time when compassion and solidarity are needed most. Policy decisions — in speech or in deed — should never diminish the humanity of people.

This month, we invite our community to choose:
✨ Unity over division
✨ Compassion over judgment
✨ Care over silence

Check in on neighbors. Support vulnerable members of our community. Help build spaces where people feel safer being who they are and reaching out when they need help.

Our shared humanity calls us to look out for one another.

Follow along throughout Pride Month as we continue sharing resources, support, and ways to show up for survivors and each other. 💜🩷💙💚💛🧡

Scent can sometimes connect us to comfort, memory, or calm.

You might notice:
🌸 a familiar scent
☕ something warm like tea or coffee
🌿 fresh air

Only if this feels supportive—there’s no need to push it.

If scent isn’t accessible or doesn’t feel comfortable, you might:
💜 focus on your breathing in a way that feels steady
💜 notice the feeling of air moving in and out
💜 explore another sense that feels more grounding

We’ve included a range of options throughout this series.

If a specific sense isn’t accessible or doesn’t feel supportive, you have choices—you might explore another sense, or simply notice your breath or surroundings in a way that works for you. 💜

Our hotline counselors are here if you need someone to talk to—any time. https://pathwaysforchange.help/

Even small moments of taste can help bring you into the present.

You might notice:
🍓 a flavor you enjoy
🍵 the warmth or coolness of a drink
🍬 a familiar, comforting taste

There’s no rush—just a moment to pause.
If taste isn’t accessible or doesn’t feel supportive, you might:

💜 notice texture or temperature instead
💜 focus on the act of pausing or nourishing yourself in another way
💜 explore another sense that feels easier to connect with
We’ve included a range of options throughout this series.

Your body can be a place to find steadiness. You might try noticing:

🤲 something soft or textured
🧣 warmth or coolness
🪑 where your body is supported (chair, ground, bed)

Small physical moments can help create a sense of connection. If touch feels complicated or overwhelming, you might:

💜 focus on temperature (warmth, cool air)
💜 notice where your body is supported without needing to move
💜 imagine a texture or sensation that feels calming
💜 shift to another sense that feels more accessible

We’ve included a range of options throughout this series.

If a specific sense isn’t accessible or doesn’t feel supportive, you have choices—you might explore another sense, or simply notice your breath or surroundings in a way that works for you. 💜

You don’t have to navigate this alone—support is available 24/7.

Tuesday marked the first day of the Massachusetts Senate budget debate — and we are encouraged to see growing momentum to protect the TRUST Line and survivor services across the Commonwealth.

At Pathways for Change, we are especially proud to see Central Massachusetts leadership at the forefront of this effort. Thank you to Senator Mike Moore for filing amendment #240 and helping lead the fight to protect critical support for survivors. Worcester-area communities know how essential these services are — and this leadership matters.

We are also deeply grateful to the Senators who have signed on as co-sponsors and to every advocate, survivor, and community member who has spoken up. Recent coverage from MassLive highlights what is at stake: crisis response, advocacy, and trauma-informed support that survivors rely on every day.

Now we need you to take action.

📞 Contact Senate Ways & Means Chair Michael Rodrigues: (617) 722-1114

Sound can sometimes help anchor us in the present moment.
You might notice:

🎧 a familiar or comforting sound
🌿 quiet background noise
💨 the rhythm of your breath

Even small sounds—or moments of quiet—can offer a sense of steadiness.
If sound isn’t accessible or doesn’t feel grounding, you might:

💜 notice vibrations around you
💜 focus on rhythm in your body (like breathing or heartbeat)
💜 shift to another sense that feels more steady

We’ve included a range of options throughout this series.

If a specific sense isn’t accessible or doesn’t feel supportive, you have choices—you might explore another sense, or simply notice your breath or surroundings in a way that works for you. 💜

Support is here whenever you need it—24/7, free and confidential. https://pathwaysforchange.help/

When things feel overwhelming, your eyes can help guide you back.

You might notice:
✨ something steady
✨ something soft
✨ something that feels familiar or safe

There’s no need to take in everything—just one small point of focus can be enough.
If visual grounding doesn’t feel accessible or helpful, you might instead:

💜 visualize a place that feels calm or familiar
💜 notice light, warmth, or brightness in a general way
💜 explore another sense that feels more supportive

We’ve included a range of options throughout this series.

If a specific sense isn’t accessible or doesn’t feel supportive, you have choices—you might explore another sense, or simply notice your breath or surroundings in a way that works for you. 💜

And if you need more support, our advocates are here 24/7—free and confidential. https://pathwaysforchange.help/

May is Mental Health Awareness Month—a time to recognize that caring for our mental health matters, especially for survivors navigating healing.

At Pathways for Change, we know that when things feel overwhelming, it can be hard to know where to begin.

This month, we’re sharing a gentle series:
“Finding Ground: Healing Through the 5 Senses.”

Each post will offer a small, optional way to reconnect with the present moment—through what you see, hear, touch, smell, and taste.

There’s no right way to do this.
You can take what helps and leave what doesn’t.

We’ve included a range of options throughout this series.

If a specific sense isn’t accessible or doesn’t feel supportive, you have choices—you might explore another sense, or simply notice your breath or surroundings in a way that works for you. 💜

And you don’t have to do it alone.
💜 Our free, confidential services are available 24/7 for survivors and their loved ones
