Worcester Housing Authority Providing Housing, Building Futures We will treat each resident as if he or she were a member of our family. The Admissions Department is NOT open on Fridays.

The WHA is dedicated to providing its families with an environment that will be a source of pride for its residents and an asset to the community at-large. The WHA will seek out opportunities and develop strategies that will assist both its present and future residents in obtaining the necessary educational, training and employment skills necessary to achieve social and economic self-sufficiency.

They will be treated with respect and encouraged to become active participants and partners in our community. In its continuing effort to provide additional affordable housing opportunities to the community, the WHA will actively seek out development opportunities and craft solutions that will serve both the needs of the community and become an asset to the surrounding neighborhoods. Our standard operating hours are 8 am to 4:30 pm weekdays.

After 15 years of dedicated service, WHA is wishing Assistant Vice President of Leased Housing Liz Zeller all the best as she begins her next chapter! ❤️🏠

Liz has played a vital role in supporting the WHA mission, helping countless families access safe, decent, and affordable housing throughout her career.

At a farewell celebration on May 29, colleagues, friends, and leadership came together to share memories, laughter, smiles, and a few tears as we thanked Liz for her years of service. 😊💐

Work continues at the site of a water main break on Tacoma Street.

The incident has impacted water flow and has affected residents of Curtis Apartments, Great Brook Valley and nearby neighborhoods.

Residents may notice brown/rust-colored water with very low pressure or no water at all.

Travel along Tacoma Street is blocked at Joseph P. Carlson Way and 81 Tacoma Street

🏘️🔨 TASK FORCE HELPS PUT PEOPLE IN HOMES 🤝

With thousands of sorely-needed subsidized housing units across Massachusetts sitting vacant, WHA is proud to be part of the solution.

WHA was selected as one of just two housing authorities statewide to lead a Vacant Unit Task Force through an Massachusetts Executive Office of Housing and Livable Communities grant-funded pilot program. That recognition speaks volumes about the expertise, leadership, and dedication of our staff. 👏

Working alongside other housing authorities, WHA is helping:
🛠️ Plan repairs
👷 Coordinate contractors
📅 Schedule work
✅ Complete final inspections

This effort is powered by collaboration, especially between WHA’s Development and Maintenance teams, who are working hands-on to help get units move-in ready for families who need them most.

This program shows what can happen when housing authorities work together instead of in silos. Shared challenges. Shared mission. Shared success. ❤️🏠

IMPORTANT NOTICE

There is currently a water main break on Tacoma Street affecting all residents of Curtis Apartments.

Water service will be disrupted for several hours and may extend into tomorrow (Saturday, May 30).

The City of Worcester, Massachusetts is on site and actively working to repair the issue.

We will continue to keep residents informed as updates are available from the City.
