๐Ÿ—๏ธ MODERNIZING MONDAYS! ๐Ÿ”จ

Thereโ€™s a lot happening at Curran Apartments, 197-199 Providence St., and WHAโ€™s Modernization Department is right in the middle of it!

Following a major renovation at 199 Providence Street, where every apartment received substantial improvements, our team is now turning its attention outdoors. A roughly $70,000 project is underway to improve accessibility around the building, including new and improved pathways and patios. ๐Ÿšถโ€โ™€๏ธโ™ฟ

Itโ€™s another investment in making WHA communities safer, more accessible and more welcoming places to call home. ๐Ÿก๐Ÿ’™

๐ŸŽ’ ITโ€™S BACK(PACK) TO SCHOOL! ๐Ÿ“š

The school year is just around the corner, and thanks to the Worcester County Sheriff's Office, WHA youth are heading back to the classroom with a little extra help and a lot of smiles!

Weโ€™re grateful for the generous donation of backpacks and school supplies, giving so many of our kids the tools they need to start the new school year on the right foot. ๐Ÿ‘

โ˜€๏ธ Summer may be winding down, but itโ€™s always cool to go to school!

Thank you to the Worcester County Sheriffโ€™s Office for helping WHA families get ready for a successful year! ๐Ÿ’™

๐Ÿก GOOD COMMUNICATION=A BETTER HOME! ๐Ÿ’ฌ๐Ÿค

Small problems can become big problems when they aren't reported. Some tenants donโ€™t report maintenance issues or fail to inform landlords about changes like new roommates.

๐Ÿ”ง Report maintenance issues early. That small leak today could become major damage tomorrow.

๐Ÿ“ง Keep it in writing. Email or text when possible and save your records.

๐Ÿถ๐Ÿ‘ฅ Communicate changes. Adding a pet, roommate or other household change? Let your landlord know!

๐Ÿ’ก Remember: A slow leak under a sink can eventually damage cabinets, flooring and more. Recently, a tenant ignored a leaky sink. Months later the cabinet was ruined and the landlord billed them $600 for damage.

Speak up! Ask questions! Keep records! Communicate early! ๐Ÿ’™

Together, we can help protect your home and keep our communities strong! ๐Ÿก

๐Ÿก OPPORTUNITY IN HAND!

For more than a dozen residents and community members, Wednesday night was a chance to learn more about an exciting opportunity: homeownership at The Overlook at Coes.

As part of the redevelopment of Lakeside Apartments, WHA is creating 10 new condominium-style homes for qualified buyers.

And our residents are taking notice.

Anthony, a resident of 40 Belmont Street, said he is โ€œvery interested in going forward with this.โ€ He even took the next step and signed up for WHAโ€™s Family Self-Sufficiency program.

Mabel, a Great Brook Valley Gardens resident and FSS participant, called homeownership at The Overlook โ€œa great opportunity for me and my children.โ€

Could this be your opportunity?

๐Ÿ“‹ Scan the QR code to join the resident interest list and explore the floor plans.

Interested in FSS? WHA public housing and Section 8 residents can call 508-635-3274 to learn more.

If owning your own home has always been a dream, The Overlook at Coes could help make that dream a reality. Donโ€™t wait. Explore the opportunity today!
