Training this week involved some strength and skill....and a few ZahnTech posts. Zahntech donated some of their posts made of recycled plastic to the FD. We used them for "jenga" to practice using extrication tools.

And for added bonus, Jeff is still not over his fangirl moments with Mountain Dew earlier this year. He asked for a close up with his trusty Mnt Dew in the hopes of a PR box 😎 😂

It is really cool that we have followers from other communities in the area and across the US!

While visiting with some firefighters from the South Central SD region in Freeman, we realized we all had a common need across all of our departments --> more volunteers.

So....

If our post(s) have ever piqued your interest, check in with your local volunteer fire department. Volunteer firefighters are regular people in your community that once started with an application and beginner firefighter training. :)

Its kinda chic to make a difference in your community 😉

A big thank you to DripDrop and National Volunteer Fire Council for including us in the 2026 DripDrop Hydration Giveback Campaign! This donated DripDrop electrolyte mix will help keep our firefighters hydrated during training, emergency responses, and extreme heat. Staying hydrated helps our crew perform at their best and stay safe! 💧🚒

It's completely up to you if you choose to wear a helmet when you ride. After all, it's about freedom, and feeling the wind in your hair (well, for some of you), and the exhilarating feeling of flying down the highway.
But imagine for a moment what this biker's skull might have looked like had they not been wearing their brain bucket....
We want everyone to have a good time this week. We only ask you please be safe while doing it. You could have thousands of miles behind you and years of safe riding, but unless you are telekinetic, you can't change what other people may do that impacts your safety. Ride defensively, and adjust your speed and following distance to allow ample reaction time to the situations you may encounter.
Oh, and please, for our sake, consider wearing a helmet.
