2025 Annual Drinking Water Quality Report - Now Available

Each year, the City & Borough of Wrangell’s Water Department produces an annual drinking water quality report, also known as a Consumer Confidence Report (CCR), created in accordance with State and Federal regulations. We routinely monitor for contaminants in our drinking water.

The purpose of the report is to inform our drinking water consumers about the quality of water we provided to them during the previous calendar year. We are pleased to present important information to you about Wrangell’s source and drinking water quality.

If you would like to view the 2025 Annual Drinking Water Quality Report, please follow this link:https://www.wrangell.com/sites/default/files/fileattachments/public_works/page/3829/2025_drinking_water_quality_report_ccr.pdf

If you would like a paper copy, you may pick one up at either City Hall or the Public Works Office.

Watch the Wrangell Travelift, ASCOM, in action as the Miss Mary returns to the water at the Marine Service Center. The full operation from hook-up to launch totaled 26 minutes. This video demonstration highlights the capabilities of one of Southeast Alaska's premier vessel haul-out facilities and the skilled maritime workforce that helps keep our working waterfront moving.

From commercial fishing vessels to marine maintenance projects, the Marine Service Center plays an important role in supporting local industry, visiting mariners, and the long-standing maritime traditions that define Wrangell.

*The City and Borough of Wrangell is currently looking for volunteers and sponsors for the Freedom Rock® project. If interested, please sign-up by clicking on the form link down below.

Summary of the project: Wrangell is working towards bringing a Freedom Rock® to our community.

Created by nationally recognized artist, Ray “Bubba” Sorensen II, the 50 State Freedom Rock® Tour honors veterans through large-scale murals painted on natural stone, each telling stories unique to the communities they represent. The picture displayed in the post is an example of a recent re-painting of a Freedom Rock in Menlo, Iowa in honor of America's 250th Anniversary.

As discussions move forward, we are looking for community members, organizations, veterans, businesses, and volunteers who would like to help shape and support the project.

Volunteer opportunities may include:

• Project planning and coordination
• Sponsorship and donations
• Site preparation and logistics
• Historical and veteran story gathering
• Community outreach and events

In addition to volunteer and sponsor support, the Borough is actively seeking for the perfect rock to serve as the foundation for the mural. If you, or someone you know, are willing to donate a rock for the project, please contact economic development staff. (Rock size must not exceed 10’ X 10’)

This project has the potential to become a lasting tribute to veterans while creating a meaningful public space for residents and visitors alike.

If you are interested in volunteering for labor or contributing resources for the Freedom Rock® project, please complete the sign-up form at https://forms.office.com/r/E8zJVfnUHc.

More information about the Freedom Rock® Tour can be found at https://www.thefreedomrock.com/.
