September- The beginning of my favorite time of the year. The "BER" months!

September 1901 marked the first time that the United States Teddy Bear was made. The bear was named after President Theodore Roosevelt and was created by toymaker Morris Michtom. September also holds plenty of days to celebrate, Cheese Pizza Day and Sept. 6 Read a Book Day and I'm excited about Sept 18th, National Cheeseburger Day and International Talk Like a Pirate Day!

Need something great to read this first “ber” month? Some great reads are on the new list and if you like something in young adult, well that area has a boost of new items too. If something is checked out, we are happy to put it on hold for you.

So AVAST ye Maties- Don't forget September is Library Card Sign-Up Month and if you don't have a Wray Public Library card, it’s time to get one and see what the Wray Public Library has to offer!

We want to welcome Madison Carroll to the library team! Madison is our newest teen librarian. She currently attends Wray High School. She loves to read all kinds of books from classics to mysteries. In her spare time she enjoys watching movies with family and creating things. She is excited to serve those at the same place she fell in love with books when she was little!

We are happy to introduce a new friendly face at the library, Miss Kortney Henry.

Kortney is excited to join the library team as the Children's librarian. She is passionate about creating a welcoming and engaging space where children can discover the joy of reading, learning, and explore their imaginations. She loves spending time with her family, painting, puzzles, being outdoors, and of course reading!

Wray Public Library Outdoor Community Space broke ground TODAY!

Those kicking off this grand beginning includes the Library Staff, Library Board, Friends of the Library, City of Wray, and Chamberlain Construction.

Let the park begin!

As the summer comes to an end, we sent our Librarians, that will be leaving us, on a traditional scavenger adventure. They could have been seen around town dancing around fire hydrants, Ding D**g Ditching books to their favorite people, hearing stories and tying to find gumballs, unusual shaped fruit, and oh...so much more!

Our Miss Claire G. is heading back to Kansa State University where she will continue her studies in Elementary Education.

Our Augustus will be attending the University of Nebraska studying Actuarial Science and Finance.

Our Miss Claire K. will be heading to the Kindergarten Classroom at Wray Elementary.
