August 9, 2026 at 7:30pm Wray Police Department, Wray EMS and Wray Fire Department were dispatched to a potential accident involving a train striking an individual walking along the tracks at the rail crossing on Grove St. After an exhaustive search and further communication with Burlington Northern Santa Fe Rail Road, it was discovered that this accident had been reported in error to Wray. The accident had occurred in Dundy County and their press release is found below.

The Wray Police Department would like to thank City of Wray EMS, Wray Fire Department, and Yuma County Sheriff for your quick response and help in our search. Additional thanks to Yuma Colorado Police Department and Colorado State Patrol for the use of your drones in conducting this search along the rail lines in Yuma County.

We have had reports of properties in Wray being posted on TikTok for rent. The properties featured in these posts are already listed for sale in our area. The prices on these "rentals" are questionably low. We believe these posts are fake and part of a scam. As a reminder, if it seems too good to be true, it probably is. Please be aware, take a moment to verify details and information for accuracy, and keep yourself safe.

Saturday starts with the Wray Daze parade at 10AM! Please review the following traffic closures for the day's events:
Saturday July 25, 2026 Closures:
1- 6AM - 1PM Adams St between 2nd St and 3rd St (HWY 34) is closed.
2- 7AM – 11AM – NO PARKING along the Parade Route. This includes
- Blake St (from 3rd St to 5th St)
- 5th St (from Blake St to Main St)
- Main St (from 3rd St to 5th St)
3- 10AM – 3PM there will be NO PARKING in the West end of the Shopping Center for the Beer Keg Battle.
Your assistance in keeping the areas clear allows for the festivities to run safely and smoothly. Have a fun and safe Wray Daze! Stay hydrated!
