Rep. Muratore Statement on Primary Election Victory

PLYMOUTH – Following the release of preliminary vote counts from all 8 communities of the Plymouth and Barnstable Senate District, State Representative Mathew Muratore (R-Plymouth) released the following statement:

"On behalf of our entire campaign team, I am pleased and honored to have earned the support of the voters in the Plymouth and Barnstable Senate District in yesterday's Republican primary. While the final handful of votes remain to be counted, we are confident in our lead, and—most importantly—we are grateful to the voters that put their trust in our campaign.

As a Republican, I believe in democracy and healthy competition, and I congratulate my Republican challenger, Ms. MacRae, on her spirited campaign. The focus of my campaign has now shifted to the November general election.

My probable Democratic opponent, Dylan Fernandes, is an extreme progressive with a far-left voting record that I believe the vast majority of voters will agree is dead wrong and dangerous on many key issues including the migrant crisis, public safety, transparency in state government, and housing affordability.

The voters will have a clear choice for State Senate in November: my proven record of common-sense, bipartisan, effective leadership...or my opponents' inexperience and extreme beliefs. We are at our best when there are two healthy political teams on the field to discuss the real concerns and needs of taxpayers throughout the Commonwealth.
