Active Duty Coast Guard members and Coast Guard Auxiliarists gathered for a photo in front of one of the Coast Guard Auxiliary facilities used to support boat patrol operations.

Together, we stand ready to serve—combining volunteer dedication with active-duty expertise to support boating safety, maritime security, and Coast Guard missions throughout our island community.

The Auxiliary's missions cover a vast range, from Recreational Boating Safety, teaching boating safety courses, water and air operations, culinary support, and more. We fill gaps for the Coast Guard by supporting their missions to allow them to keep moving forward in key missions to keep the county safe. While we work behind the scenes most of the time, one area we don't is in Recruiting Support.

Auxiliarists who have met the requirements and earned the qualification can help their local recruiting office in finding new men and women to step into the Role of a United States Coast Guardsman. They add additional manpower to their local office, where they work just as an Active duty or reserve recruiter would. While Auxiliary qualifications are open to all Auxiliary members, the Recruiting Support Specialist has a rigorous process to become qualified in the program.
