🔧 Maintenance Update

To allow for additional maintenance and repair work on the grinding stones, Old Wye Mill will be closed Thursday, July 30, through Saturday, August 1.

This is an updated schedule, and we apologize for any confusion caused by our earlier post.

Maintenance is an important part of preserving this remarkable piece of history so it can continue operating for generations to come.

Our historic mill still requires maintenance so the mill will be closed on Thursday, July 30th and Friday, July 31st while our millwright works on the millstones. We plan to reopen on Saturday, August 1st - a grinding day - with the hope that the mill wheels will be grinding again as they have for over 340 years.

Every historic building needs special care, including Old Wye Mill.
We’ll be open during our regular hours this weekend:
Friday & Saturday: 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Sunday: 1 p.m. – 3 p.m.

Unfortunately we won’t be grinding grain on Saturday due to maintenance on the grinding stones. Visitors are still welcome to tour the Mill, learn about its history, and discover how this piece of living history has operated for generations.

What a fantastic day at our 1776 Celebration!

Apparently humans aren’t the only ones that like corn 😍 Stop by Old Wye Mill and pick up some corn meal and grits (or any of our other non-corn products).
We’re open Wed-Sat 10-3, Sun 1-3.

This weekend we pause to remember and honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. 🇺🇸

As this powerful poem reminds us, freedom is never free. On this Memorial Day, Old Wye Mill reflects with gratitude on the sacrifices made by generations of Americans and the families who carried those burdens beside them.
