North Texas Municipal Water District (NTMWD), created by the Texas Legislation in 1951, is a wholesale provider of high-quality drinking water to nearly 1.7 million residents about 80 cities across 10 counties in north Texas. In addition to water treatment and delivery, NTMWD also provides regional wastewater treatment and solid waste disposal services. Rates for services are set at cost, no profi

ts are included, and no taxes are collected. NTMWD prides itself as stewards of water quality and environmental protection while providing services that sustain residential, commercial, and industrial growth in the communities served. The NTMWD’s water conservation program is being aggressively implemented to extend existing available supplies and as a water management strategy. Conservation, the wise and efficient use of current water supplies, and reuse strategies are estimated to comprise more than 25 percent of the future water supply by 2060.

Janet Gary, Maintenance Dispatcher, recently explained what "All in Together" means to her.

A combat veteran of the U.S. Army, Janet spent two tours in Iraq as a truck driver delivering vital equipment and supplies to troops.

Now she applies her work ethic and sense of purpose to her career at NTMWD. As a Maintenance Dispatcher, Janet is at the heart of where information meets action.

Maintenance Dispatchers ensure the right crews are sent to fix issues around the District, monitor the Texas 811 Emergency Locate Line after business hours and routes leak reports from the public for repairs.
