🚩🚩🔥🔥Red Flag Warning, Very High Fire Danger Day🔥🔥🚩🚩

Wyndmere Fire along with other departments in our region have activated our W.A.R plan. (Wildland Automated Response). This is a multi-jurisdictional response of assets from departments to quickly respond and extinguish fires before they turn large. We use this on critical and severe days to increase suppression while not straining availability of resources. Wyndmere, Colfax/Walcott, Kindred, Enderlin, Leanord,Lisbon, Milnor and Rutland/Cayuga along with the ND State Forest Service are all involved with making this happen.
Please check any burns you’ve had within last few days if you see smoke call 911.

🚩🚩🚩First Red Flag Warning of the year. 🚩🚩🚩
Please use caution with outdoor activities in/near dry fuels. Call 911 at first sign of smoke.

With much of the snow gone and plants yet to green up, fuels will be ready to burn tomorrow afternoon. Southwesterly winds at 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph at times, along with relative humidity values in the low 20s and dry fuels will make fire danger critical tomorrow. A Red Flag warning is in effect for portions of southeastern North Dakota and west central Minnesota. Avoid burning and use caution when disposing of smoking materials.
