We were truly honored to host the **FBI Philadelphia Division Teen Academy** at the Wyoming Area Regional Police Department's training facility over the past two days.

It was a privilege to welcome outstanding high school students from across the region as they explored careers in law enforcement and the criminal justice system through hands-on learning, including fingerprint processing, crime scene investigations, and presentations from FBI personnel.

We are grateful to the FBI Philadelphia Division for selecting our training facility to host this exceptional program. Opportunities like these inspire the next generation of public servants while strengthening the partnerships between local and federal law enforcement.

A special thank you to the FBI agents, instructors, and everyone who helped make the academy a success. We also congratulate all of the students who were selected to participate. Your curiosity, enthusiasm, and commitment to learning were impressive, and we wish you the very best in your future endeavors.

We look forward to continuing to support programs that educate, engage, and inspire future leaders in public safety.

REMINDER: With the recent rise in vehicle break ins and thefts, we are reminding all residents to lock your doors, don’t leave valuables in plain sight, and please don’t leave your keys in the car!

Call 911 if you see any suspicious people walking around looking in vehicles, especially at night!

Type : Fugitive Appréhension

Location: Exeter Avenue, Exeter PA

On Friday July 10, 2026, the Wyoming Area Regional Police Department assisted Officers from the US Marshalls Fugitive Task Force in apprehending Craig Gill at a residence on Exeter Avenue. Gill was wanted out of New York for parole violations. Gill was taken into custody without incident and is being held at the Luzerne County Correctional Facility awaiting extradition to New York.

The Wyoming Area Regional Police Commission invites all interested parties to its meeting on Thursday, June 11, 2026, at 7 pm. The meeting's agenda is as follows. The meeting will take place in the Conference Center at 475 Wyoming Avenue, Wyoming, accessible via the building behind the police headquarters. On Wednesday June 10, 2026, Officers from the Wyoming Area Regional Police Department took Kristopher Powell into custody at our headquarters on a felony warrant. He is being charged with R**e of Child, Statutory Sexual Assault: 11 years Older, Invol. Deviate Sexual In*******se W/Child, Agg Ind Assault of Child, Indecent Assault Person Less than 13 Years of Age and Corruption of Minors- Defendant Age 18 or above.
He was arraigned by Magistrate Matthew Carmody and bail was denied and Powell is being held at the Luzerne County Correctional Facility.
