Last Friday, we hosted our 2026 Bike Rodeo at the future Police Department! Despite the hot weather and the threat of rain, we had an amazing turnout and a great time.

The Bike Rodeo is on! We look forward to seeing everyone this evening!

Come join us this evening from 5PM to 7PM for the 2026 Bike Rodeo! Kids will receive a free bike helmet upon entry, and there will also be a drawing for some fun prizes!

There is currently a small chance of storms, but we will keep an eye on the weather and make updates to this post as the day goes. As for now, the Bike Rodeo is on!!

Media Release – Assault/Attempted Murder Investigation Update

The Wyoming Police Department continues to investigate the incident that occurred on May 11, 2026, in the 25000 block of Heims Lake Circle in Wyoming, Minnesota.

According to the criminal complaint filed in Chisago County District Court, officers responded at approximately 12:56 p.m. to a report of an assault in progress involving a weapon. Initial information indicated that a husband was attacking his wife with a hammer and that the incident was reported by an Amazon delivery driver who witnessed the event. 

Officers arrived and located an adult female victim inside the residence suffering from significant head injuries. Evidence at the scene included a hammer believed to have been used in the assault. The suspect was located inside the home and taken into custody without incident. 

The criminal complaint alleges that the suspect admitted to planning the assault in advance and striking the victim with a hammer. The complaint further alleges that the victim sustained injuries consistent with being struck multiple times. 

The defendant has been charged with:

• Attempted First-Degree Murder (Premeditated)
• Second-Degree Assault with a Dangerous Weapon Resulting in Substantial Bodily Harm 

This investigation remains ongoing and additional information will be released as appropriate through the judicial process.

The Wyoming Police Department would also like to acknowledge the actions of the witness who intervened during this incident. The witness’s actions contributed to bringing the situation to an end and assisting the victim. We look forward to recognizing those efforts at an appropriate time.

Our thoughts remain with the victim and all those impacted by this incident.

No additional comments or statements beyond the information in the criminal complaint will be provided at this time due to the ongoing investigation.

10:00 AM: Wyoming Fire is responding to a garage fire in the 5600 Block of 250th St.

Please avoid the area to give responders the ability to work.

Fire has been extinguished and the property has been turned over to the occupants. No injuries reported.

At approximately 1:00 PM today, the Wyoming Police Department, Wyoming Fire Department, and M Health Ambulance responded to the 25400 block of Heims Lake Circle in Wyoming, Minnesota, for a reported assault.

Upon arrival, officers located an adult female victim who had reportedly been struck in the head with a hammer. The victim was treated at the scene and transported to Regions Hospital in St. Paul for medical care.

The suspect, identified as a family member of the victim, was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Chisago County Jail pending review by the Chisago County Attorney’s Office.

At this time, no additional information will be released while the incident remains under review by the Chisago County Attorney’s Office.
