🤘🎸 Our CWI crew was back at it yesterday at Live Nation at Montage Mountain — this time for The Berzerkus 2026 metal festival! 🔥

Alyssa takes center stage as she and the crew put their growing Guest Services skills to work during one of the most high-energy events of the summer.

Working a major live event means keeping pace, communicating with guests, working as a team, staying focused, and adapting to whatever the day brings. These are exactly the kinds of real-world experiences that Community Work Instruction (CWI) is all about.

And with each event, we’re watching those skills — and their confidence — continue to grow.

We’re incredibly proud of Alyssa and the entire crew for stepping up and representing themselves so well in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.

A huge thank you to Live Nation Concerts at Montage Mountain and our partners at the Pennsylvania Office of Vocational Rehabilitation (OVR) for helping us create opportunities where learning doesn’t happen in a classroom — it happens right in the middle of the action. 🤝

Another show. Another experience. Another Next Step forward. 💙

💪🏽🚛 Eight weeks. Countless lessons. One incredible team.

Since our MY Work Initiative experience in the Municipality of Kingston came to a close on 8/7, we're reflecting on just how much these students accomplished.

Without question, Kingston Borough was the most challenging worksite of this summer's MY Work Initiative, provided by Next Step Supports through our partnership with the Pennsylvania Office of Vocational Rehabilitation (OVR). From assisting with garbage collection and working alongside the street department to preparing firewood for local residents, this team was challenged every day.
And they rose to the occasion.

They showed up, worked hard, learned new skills, and proved they could be counted on. The work wasn't always easy, but that's exactly what made it meaningful.

The ultimate measure of success? Several members of this summer's team impressed borough leadership so much that they were hired as permanent members of the Kingston DPW team. That's what happens when opportunity meets hard work.

A huge thank you to Kingston Borough for investing in these young adults, providing real-world work experiences, and creating pathways to employment.

To our students: be proud of what you've accomplished. You left your mark on the community, gained valuable skills, and for some, turned a summer opportunity into a job.

That's a summer worth celebrating. 🎉

Week 1 of 8 is officially in the books for our Summer STEP Program! 🎉

Before we talk about resumes, interviews, careers, or employment, we start somewhere even more important: dreaming.

This week, our group spent time exploring who they are, what matters to them, and what they want their future to look like. We challenged them to think beyond limitations, beyond expectations, and beyond what feels comfortable—to dream as big as possible.

Because every meaningful journey starts with a vision.

At Next Step Supports, we believe that employment is about more than finding a job. It's about discovering purpose, building confidence, and creating a future that excites you.

As we wrapped up Week 1, we focused on a simple idea:

First we Aspire. Then we Inspire.

When individuals learn to believe in their own possibilities, they don't just change their own lives—they inspire everyone around them.

We're proud of the work Tia, Gracie, Janiey, Ayden, and Sarah have already put in, and we can't wait to see where the next seven weeks take them.

✨ Dream big.
✨ Believe bigger.
✨ The best is yet to come.

Yesterday marked the first day of our Summer STEP Program, and while employment is the destination, the journey starts somewhere much more important: understanding yourself.

Before someone can discover what kind of employee they want to be, they first need to discover who they are—their strengths, interests, values, talents, and goals. That's exactly what STEP (Striving Toward Employment & Possibilities) is all about.

This summer, Tia, Gracie, Janiey, Ayden, and Sarah will spend time exploring their unique abilities, building confidence, developing workplace readiness skills, and learning how their individual strengths can create opportunities in the world of work.
Employment isn't just about finding a job. It's about finding purpose, building self-worth, and understanding the value you bring to your community.

We're excited to walk alongside this amazing group as they learn more about themselves, grow in confidence, and take the first steps toward a future filled with possibilities.

Because before you can contribute to the world, you have to discover what makes you uniquely you. 💙

💙 3 SITES. 1 GROUP. 1 COMMUNITY. 1 IMPACT.

Today marks the final day of one of our more unconventional MY Work Initiative experiences—and one that showed exactly what community-based work can look like.

Instead of spending the summer at one location, this crew took their talents across three different worksites:

🏘️ Exeter Borough
🏘️ Wyoming Borough
🚔 Wyoming Area Regional Police

Different locations. Different projects. Different responsibilities. But everywhere they went, the goal remained the same: show up, contribute, learn, and leave the community a little better than they found it.

That variety gave our participants the opportunity to adapt to different environments, work alongside different community partners, and discover just how many ways their skills can make an impact.

A huge THANK YOU to Exeter Borough, Wyoming Borough, and the Wyoming Area Regional Police for opening your doors, working alongside our crew, and helping create meaningful opportunities throughout the summer.

Three sites. One group. One community. One impact. 💪💙

That’s the MY Work Initiative.

🍕 FIRST WORK… THEN PIZZA! 💪

That’s a wrap on an incredible summer in Duryea Borough!

Our crew finished their final day the same way they approached this entire experience — getting the job done first. And after weeks of hard work, teamwork, and making a difference throughout the community, there was no better way to celebrate than with some well-earned pizza! 🍕👏

A huge THANK YOU to Duryea Borough for welcoming our participants, giving them meaningful opportunities to contribute, and treating them like part of the team.

These experiences are about so much more than completing a job. They’re about building confidence, developing work skills, taking pride in a job well done, and seeing firsthand what it means to contribute to your community.

We’re incredibly proud of this crew and grateful to Duryea Borough for being such a great partner.

Work hard. Make an impact. Then eat pizza. 🍕💙

💙 This photo is everything.

Week 7 of the MY Work Initiative in Kingston Borough captured exactly what this program is all about.

Here is Owen, working side-by-side with Kingston's Director of Public Works, Adam. No special treatment. No sidelines. Just two people working together toward a common goal.

That's what meaningful employment experiences look like.

It's about mentorship. It's about belonging. It's about learning by doing. And it's about building the confidence that comes from being trusted with real work that matters.

Over the past seven weeks, Owen and his fellow students have shown up each day ready to learn, work hard, and contribute to their community. Along the way, they've gained much more than a paycheck—they've built relationships, developed workplace skills, and discovered what they're capable of accomplishing.

To Adam and the entire Kingston Borough team: thank you for leading by example. Taking the time to work alongside our students creates experiences they'll carry with them long after this summer ends.

At Next Step Supports, we often talk about the dignity of opportunity. This photo captures that idea perfectly. Opportunity isn't just opening a door—it's walking through it together.

Thank you to Municipality of Kingston for believing in our students and helping shape the workforce of tomorrow.

🎉 Congratulations, Brooke! 🎉

Today we're celebrating a major milestone as Brooke begins her new job at Ross Dress for Less through the Supported Employment program in partnership with the Pennsylvania Office of Vocational Rehabilitation (OVR)!

This moment represents something truly special. While programs like Paid Work Experience (PWE) and Work Experience for Adults (WEXA) provide temporary, stipend-funded opportunities to build skills and explore careers, Supported Employment is different. Supported Employment focuses on competitive, integrated employment—where an individual is hired directly by the employer, earns wages from the employer, and receives individualized job coaching and ongoing support to achieve long-term success.

For Brooke, this isn't just a work experience—it's the beginning of her career.

Our team is proud to stand beside her as she builds confidence, strengthens her skills, and grows her independence in a job she's earned. This is what the dignity of opportunity looks like: helping people find meaningful employment, contribute to their communities, and achieve greater independence.

Please join us in congratulating Brooke on this incredible accomplishment. We can't wait to see all she'll achieve!

💙 Congratulations, Brooke! Your Next Step starts today.

🇺🇸 250 Years Strong. United by Opportunity. 🇺🇸

This Independence Day, we proudly celebrate America’s 250th Birthday and the enduring ideals of freedom, opportunity, and community.

At Next Step Supports, we believe everyone deserves the dignity of opportunity—the chance to work, contribute, grow, and thrive. Every day, we’re honored to help individuals with diverse needs take their next step toward meaningful employment, greater independence, and fuller inclusion in their communities.

As we celebrate 250 years of our nation’s story, we’re inspired to keep building a future where opportunity belongs to everyone.

Happy 4th of July from all of us at Next Step Supports! ❤️🤍💙
