Join us at the library this week for some great programs: tonight at 6 PM author LD Zane will talk about his short stories and will be happy to sign copies of his books.
On Wednesday at 6 PM, John Kissinger will discuss DNA & Genetics and how they make you who you are.
And at 5:30 tomorrow, the WPL Book Club will have a conversation about this month's selection, Convenience Store Woman by Sayaka Murata.

If you haven't had your flu or covid shots yet, come to the library on Saturday between 10 am & 3 pm; pharmacists from Giant Stores will be happy to give you your annual vaccination, whether it's for flu, covid, rsv or pneumonia, as well as shingles. Just bring your insurance card.

It was a spooktacular afternoon at the Borough of Wyomissing's Spooky Hollow! 🧙‍♀️✨

Miss Daniella and Miss Colleen had a blast serving up "Witches Brew" at the library's game station. Kids put their potion-making skills to the test by tossing stuffed frogs and bats into cauldrons to create the perfect brew!

Participants who completed the challenge could choose from fun treats and prizes, including Halloween rubber ducks, fruit snacks, Halloween pretzels, and cheese balls.

With beautiful weather, lots of smiles, and plenty of laughter, it was a wonderful day celebrating with our community. Thank you to everyone who stopped by and made the event so much fun! 🎃💜

Commissioners' Town Hall at the Library 🏛

Many thanks to the Berks County Commissioners for holding last night's Town Hall at the Wyomissing Public Library! We also extend our gratitude to everyone who came out to participate, ask questions, and share their comments. We appreciate the community engagement and are pleased to provide a space for these conversations.

Our Preschool Storytime friends celebrated all things fall this week with Miss Daniella! 🍂🎃

Children talked about the sights, colors, and fun activities that make autumn special and enjoyed the book "Fall Day, All Day" and they also listened to the book "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" by Eric Carle, which was the inspiration for the library's display for the Pumpkin People of Wyomissing. 🐛📚

After storytime, the children helped paint the pumpkins that are featured in the display, adding their own creative touch to this new community tradition.

The Wyomissing Public Library was proud to be represented in Harrisburg yesterday as our Library Director, Colleen Stamm, joined the Pennsylvania Library Association (PaLA) for a press conference highlighting the important role libraries play in our communities.

While in Harrisburg, Colleen also had the opportunity to meet with Rep. Johanny Cepeda-Freytiz to discuss the impact of libraries and stopped by Senator Judy Schwank's office. Although Senator Schwank was in session, it was great to connect with her staff and share the library's story.

Advocating for libraries and the communities they serve is always time well spent. It was a great day in Harrisburg! 📖🏛️

Fall is the perfect time to start thinking about next year's garden! 🌱 Participants in our recent Seeds & More program with Penn State Master Gardeners Sandy Weiss and Karyn Spengler learned how to harvest and save seeds from plants in the fall, helping them preserve their favorite varieties and prepare for future growing seasons.

Attendees also discovered how the library's Seed Library works and learned how they can contribute by donating harvested seeds to help others in our community grow and share. Thank you to Sandy and Karyn for sharing your knowledge and inspiring gardeners!

Thank you to everyone who stopped by the library's table at Wyomissing Jr./Sr. High School's Open House!

We had a great evening registering new library cards, sharing information about upcoming programs, and connecting with students, parents, and staff. It was nice to see so many familiar faces in the crowd.

We look forward to seeing you at the library soon!
