Good morning.... GREAT NEWS: we are moving forward with today’s Memorial Day Parade and Remembrance Ceremony as planned.

After monitoring the weather closely overnight and reviewing the latest conditions this morning, it looks as though the weather is going to cooperate enough for us to proceed.

The parade will step off at 10:00 AM from Wyomissing Hills Elementary Center and travel through the Wyomissing Hills neighborhood, ending at Wyomissing Hills Memorial Park.
We invite the community to come out, line the route, wave your flags, support our parade participants, and help us honor the true meaning of Memorial Day.

The Remembrance Ceremony will follow at 11:15 AM under the pavilion at Wyomissing Hills Memorial Park.

Please dress accordingly in case we experience a quick shower, drizzle, or damp conditions during the morning.

Thank you for your patience and support as we worked through the weather. We look forward to seeing everyone this morning as we come together to remember and honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

Wyomissing is proud to be a Tree City, and that title comes with a lot of care, planning, and year-round attention.

Our Public Works Tree Department is out and about throughout the community, replacing trees and continuing the important work of maintaining Wyomissing’s beautiful tree canopy. With more than 7,000 trees across the Borough, our team is constantly monitoring tree health, identifying areas of need, and helping make sure our streets, parks, and neighborhoods remain green, shaded, and welcoming.

Tree replacement is an important part of that process. It helps preserve the character of our community, supports the long-term health of our urban forest, and keeps Wyomissing "... looking like Wyomissing."

Thank you to our Tree Department for the thoughtful work they do every season to care for one of the Borough’s most beautiful and valuable natural resources.

You’ve probably seen the street striping crews out and about throughout the Borough.

This work is being done in conjunction with our Public Works Department as crews freshen up crosswalks, curbs, parking lines, and roadway markings around Wyomissing. It is the kind of work that helps keep our streets safer, cleaner, and better cared for.

As they continue working through the Borough, please be patient, slow down, and give the crews plenty of room. A little extra caution goes a long way in helping them do their job safely and efficiently.

Thank you for your patience as this important work continues throughout the community.

Please be advised that beginning Monday, May 18th, the path along the Stone House side of the pond will be temporarily closed through Friday, May 22nd.

This closure will allow our team time to widen the blacktop path, improving access for vendor vehicles servicing events at the Stone House.

We apologize for the temporary inconvenience and appreciate your patience as these improvements are completed.

Old Wyomissing Road at Old Mill Road is closed to vehicular traffic today to allow the Tree Department the space they need to safely remove a fallen tree. This closure is necessary so crews have room to operate equipment and complete the work efficiently.

Please note, the road/trail is also closed to pedestrians in the area around Ruth’s Bridge during this time.

Our goal is to have the work completed and the area reopened by 3:30 PM this afternoon.

We appreciate your patience as our team takes care of this and works to keep our Parklands safe and accessible.

We wanted to provide you with an update regarding the water main break on South Park Road between Franklin Street and Wayne Avenue.

Our crews worked diligently through the night—remaining on site until after 1:00 AM—and were back out early this morning continuing repairs and restoration efforts.

A third-party water testing service, MJ Reider, will be conducting the first of two required water quality tests later this morning. Based on those results, a second test will be performed 24 hours later in accordance with mandated protocols.

At this time, the boil water notice remains in effect for all affected areas. We will continue to keep you informed as results are received and the notice can be lifted.

We sincerely appreciate your patience and understanding during this time. We also apologize for the inconvenience this situation has caused and thank you for your cooperation as we work to ensure the safety and quality of our water system.
