Greene County Veteran Services Serving military veterans of Greene County

The Veterans Service Office is a county agency dedicated to helping veterans, active duty members of the Armed Forces of the United States, and their dependents. There are several distinct services the agency provides:
· Financial assistance to eligible veterans with a discharge under honorable conditions or a recognized service-connected disability, active-duty members of the Armed Forces of the

United States, Reserve and National Guard members who are called to active duty by a Presidential Order such as Desert Storm Operation Enduring Freedom, and their dependents.
· County Veterans’ Service Officers (CVSO) act as the veterans’ liaison to the Department of Veterans Affairs. CVSO’s provide professional assistance when filing for benefits with the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).
· Provide assistance up to $1,000.00 to a family without the means to defray the necessary funeral expenses for the burial of a veteran and the cost of mounting the government marker.
· Employment assistance in coordination with a Veterans Employment Representative from the Department of Job and Family Services.
