🌳✨ EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT: MICHELLE! ✨🌳
This week, we’re shining the spotlight on Michelle with Greene County Parks & Trails 💚
📅 Years with the County: 7 years
Michelle’s connection to parks and recreation runs deep! After retiring in 2017 following 31 years with Ohio State Parks, she joined the Greene County Park District in 2018. Seeing firsthand all the incredible work happening at Greene County Parks & Trails, Michelle knew she wanted to be part of the team when an opportunity came along. And we’re so glad she did! 🙌
🔢 What does she enjoy most about her role?
Michelle describes herself as a “numbers person,” so she loves the day-to-day work of her position—but she especially enjoys getting out of the office and into the parks! From concerts and Parklights to Pumpkin Glow and the Extreme Egg Hunt, she loves being part of the events that bring so much joy to our community. 🎃🥚🎶
🌉 A moment she’s especially proud of:
During her first year with the County, employees were paired up to brainstorm ways to improve Greene County’s parks and trails. Michelle and her partner, Wade, came up with the idea for a bridge over Massies Creek at Indian Mound Reserve in Cedarville, connecting two sides of the park. Their idea was selected—and the bridge was built that same year! ❤️
Michelle still hikes there often, and seeing people enjoying the bridge and the park is a pretty special reminder of the impact their idea had on the community.
🌲 What does she want the community to know?
We have some incredible parks and trails right in our own backyard! Michelle hopes everyone knows just how lucky we are to have these beautiful places to explore and make memories.
And behind all of those beautiful parks? A small but incredibly passionate team working hard every day to keep them beautiful, safe, and full of amazing events and programs for all ages. 💚
Thank you, Michelle, for everything you do for Greene County and for helping make our parks such a special part of our community! 👏🌳
