WHALE SIGHTINGS Central Coast's Julie Conrad Reports: 6 orcas at Newport's Yaquina Bay 2:19pm. 3:12 p.m.: seen at Lost Creek (Waldport area). 4:02 p.m. seen at Seal Rock. They stayed visible for another ten minutes. Now Conrad and others are zipping down 101 looking for them. "There was also a gray whale in the area. Several of us witnessed active hunting, but couldn't tell what exactly they were hunting," she told Oregon Coast Beach Connection.
Dead gray washed at up God's Thumb at outskirts of Lincoln City. In an area too remote to do a necropsy, according to Jim Rice of Marine Mammal Stranding Network. Full story later tonight at
