It sounds like we did not prevail in this injunction. Thank you all for your support over these last few months. We are hopeful that our elected officials will correct this injustice before DSHS takes it over for mentally ill or the sexually violent predators at the Special Committment Center.

The Lawyer for Teamsters 117 filed an appeal on the ruling. The Appeal court has issued a freeze on the layoff date which has pushed it out to the 17th. Larch will remain open until that time!

We are still in the fight!

I know a lot of people already have heard, but the judge did not rule in favor of Larch employees. Tomorrow, the facility will officially close.

This is still not the end. The staff may go to other facilities, but the fight still isn’t over.

Thank you to everyone who has supported Larch and the community. The support has been overwhelming and is very much appreciated.

A Clark County Superior Court judge Friday directed the Washington Department of Corrections to hold off on closing Larch Corrections Center until Tuesday while he decides whether to grant a motion th

The judge will be going over the arguments over the weekend. He did issue a hold off on layoffs until Oct. 10th. He will issue his ruling no later than Monday, Oct. 9th at 10am.

Again, want to thank everyone who has supported Larch. We have an amazing community and hopefully we will continue to serve here.

Important!!! The hearing for the injunction has been pushed back to 1100 this Friday 10/06/23 at the Clark County Courhouse. We will be meeting between 0900 and 1000 to do a rally being respectful of the courthouse and those in the area. Please join us.

There will likely be media at LCC tomorrow as the last of the inmates are transferred. This is a sad day to the injustice of this misguided closure.
