As EMS Week 2026 comes to a close, we want to take a moment to thank our crews for what they do for Yadkin County.

Every single day and night, the EMTs, AEMTs, and Paramedics of Yadkin County Emergency Services answer the call without hesitation. They are the calm in the middle of someone's worst moment, the clinical experts making critical decisions under immense pressure, and the steady presence a family leans on when everything else is falling apart.

This profession requires more than just technical skill. It takes an incredible amount of mental fortitude, compassion, and a willingness to sacrifice time and special events with their own families so that they can be there when others need them the most.

To our crews: We see the long shifts, the missed meals, the heavy calls, and the unwavering professionalism you bring to every truck you step into. Thank you for your dedication, your resilience, and your service. We are incredibly proud of this EMS Service, not just this week, but every single day of the year.

Just a quick and random shout-out to our crews keeping our community safe each and every day!

📢 Important Update: New Non-Emergency Phone Number & Call Guidance

Yadkin County Emergency Communications is upgrading our administrative phone system to improve reliability, reduce service disruptions, and strengthen our ability to maintain operations during outages.

As part of this upgrade, our primary non-emergency phone number will be changing.

📞 NEW NUMBER: (336) 677-1428
🗓 Effective: Tentatively February 19, 2026 (pending any unforeseen issues)

This upgrade allows us to:
• Improve system uptime and reliability
• Reduce vendor complexity
• Maintain phone service during fiber cuts or cellular outages
• Reroute calls to alternate locations during major incidents

🚫 The following numbers will no longer reach our center after this change:
• (336) 849-7811
• (336) 849-7812
• (336) 849-7813
• (336) 849-7814

📌 What you should do now:
• Save the new number in your phone
• Share this update with your organization, staff, and community partners

📣 Important Public Reminder

Our non-emergency number is intended only for requests that require dispatching law enforcement, fire, or EMS services.

For administrative or business-related matters, please contact the appropriate agency directly. Calling our center for these items delays emergency operations and often results in unnecessary call transfers.

Examples of administrative requests that should go directly to the agency include:
• Concealed carry permits/Fingerprinting
• Copies of reports
• Jail Inmates
• Animals in the shelter
• EMS billing questions
• General business or records requests
• Public services such as road scraping, trash pickup, etc.

To help you reach the right place the first time, here are the primary administrative numbers for agencies we serve that have weekday business offices:

📞 Yadkin County Sheriff’s Office: (336) 849-7810
📞 Yadkin County Detention Center: (336) 849-7840
📞 Yadkin County EMS, FMO, & EM: (336) 849-7902
📞 Yadkin County Animal Shelter: (336) 849-7901
📞 Yadkinville Police Department: (336) 679-2863
📞 Jonesville Police Department: (336) 835-5020
📞 East Bend Police Department: (336) 699-8560
📞 Boonville Police Department: (336) 367-7828

We will provide an update once the transition is fully complete. Thank you for helping keep emergency lines available for those who need them most.

🚨 As always, dial 911 for emergencies.

🚑 We’ve partnered with PulsePoint to help save lives in our community.

Sudden cardiac arrest can happen anywhere. When it does, every second matters. Early CPR and quick access to an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) can double or even triple a person’s chance of survival—often before first responders arrive.

That’s why we’re asking businesses, organizations, churches, schools, gyms, and community members to register their AEDs through the PulsePoint app.

Once registered and approved, AEDs will appear on a map that 911 can see during cardiac arrest emergencies. This allows telecommunicators to quickly identify nearby AEDs and help direct callers or responders to lifesaving equipment that’s already close by.

How to register your AED:

1️⃣ Download the PulsePoint app
📱 Apple App Store: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/pulsepoint-aed/id867150971
📱 Google Play Store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.pulsepoint.aeds.android&hl=en_US

2️⃣ Use the app to submit your AED information
🎥 Watch this short video for step-by-step instructions: https://vimeo.com/394491345?fl=pl&fe=sh

What happens after you register?
✅ Your AED will be placed into a pending status
✅ A member of our Emergency Communications staff will visit the location to confirm the information
✅ Once verified, the AED will be approved and added to the registry

This verification step ensures the information we rely on during emergencies is accurate and dependable when lives are on the line.

By registering your AED, you’re not just listing equipment—you’re helping 911 know where help already exists and giving someone a better chance to survive a cardiac arrest.
