Today, we remember and honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.

This Memorial Day, the Yadkinville Fire Department pauses to reflect on the true cost of freedom and to pay tribute to the heroes who gave everything in service to our nation.

We are forever grateful for their courage, their sacrifice, and the legacy they leave behind.
Gone, but never forgotten.

🚒🔥 WORKING FIRE – LOCAL MANUFACTURING PLANT 🔥🚒

Earlier today, Yadkinville Fire Department responded to a commercial fire alarm at a local manufacturing facility. Upon arrival, crews found smoke showing from the building and immediately upgraded the incident to a working fire.

Crews made an aggressive interior attack and limited the damages. Along with our members that responded we would also like to thank our mutual partners for their assistance:

📢 Important Update: New Non-Emergency Phone Number & Call Guidance

Yadkin County Emergency Communications is upgrading our administrative phone system to improve reliability, reduce service disruptions, and strengthen our ability to maintain operations during outages.

As part of this upgrade, our primary non-emergency phone number will be changing.

📞 NEW NUMBER: (336) 677-1428
🗓 Effective: Tentatively February 19, 2026 (pending any unforeseen issues)

This upgrade allows us to:
• Improve system uptime and reliability
• Reduce vendor complexity
• Maintain phone service during fiber cuts or cellular outages
• Reroute calls to alternate locations during major incidents

🚫 The following numbers will no longer reach our center after this change:
• (336) 849-7811
• (336) 849-7812
• (336) 849-7813
• (336) 849-7814

📌 What you should do now:
• Save the new number in your phone
• Share this update with your organization, staff, and community partners

📣 Important Public Reminder

Our non-emergency number is intended only for requests that require dispatching law enforcement, fire, or EMS services.

For administrative or business-related matters, please contact the appropriate agency directly. Calling our center for these items delays emergency operations and often results in unnecessary call transfers.

Examples of administrative requests that should go directly to the agency include:
• Concealed carry permits/Fingerprinting
• Copies of reports
• Jail Inmates
• Animals in the shelter
• EMS billing questions
• General business or records requests
• Public services such as road scraping, trash pickup, etc.

To help you reach the right place the first time, here are the primary administrative numbers for agencies we serve that have weekday business offices:

📞 Yadkin County Sheriff’s Office: (336) 849-7810
📞 Yadkin County Detention Center: (336) 849-7840
📞 Yadkin County EMS, FMO, & EM: (336) 849-7902
📞 Yadkin County Animal Shelter: (336) 849-7901
📞 Yadkinville Police Department: (336) 679-2863
📞 Jonesville Police Department: (336) 835-5020
📞 East Bend Police Department: (336) 699-8560
📞 Boonville Police Department: (336) 367-7828

We will provide an update once the transition is fully complete. Thank you for helping keep emergency lines available for those who need them most.

🚨 As always, dial 911 for emergencies.
