🚧 𝐂𝐚𝐬𝐚 𝐝𝐞 𝐥𝐚 𝐌𝐨𝐫𝐚 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐔𝐩𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐞 – 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐡 𝟑 🚧

Did you know that some of the most crucial—and challenging—tasks occur even 𝘣𝘦𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘦 construction starts?

We’re now well into Month 3 of construction at Casa de la Mora. While this phase might not be the most glamorous, site preparation is where the magic begins. After seven years of planning, due diligence, and architectural design with our longtime partners at ZBA Architects, it's exciting to finally see construction activity on-site.

As footings and foundations are poured, the building's footprint is starting to take shape. Our General Contractor, MC Lundgren Inc., has been making steady progress, including:

🔹 Clearing and grading the site—hauling away more than 20 truckloads of dirt and debris
🔹 Laying the groundwork for 3-foot-tall foundations
🔹 Tackling utility prep, including removing multiple truckloads of concrete to connect to nearby infrastructure

Framing is just weeks away—stay tuned as Casa de la Mora continues to come to life! 🏗️

People experiencing homelessness have already lost so much. It’s crucial that we ensure their basic needs—housing, food, and support—are met. Yet, state budget proposals include significant cuts to emergency shelter, housing, and essential services like behavioral health. These reductions will disproportionately affect our most vulnerable neighbors.

Please urge your lawmakers to prioritize the needs of those experiencing homelessness as they finalize the state budget. Find your legislator at leg.wa.gov/legislators and send a message today, or call 1-800-562-6000.

Exciting news—we’ve officially broken ground on Casa de la Mora in Yakima! Casa de la Mora will feature 73 units of affordable housing for low-income households. Although it may not look like much at the moment, this milestone represents months of planning and coordination to prepare for a successful construction process.

Stay tuned as we make progress toward completing construction by Summer 2026!

This Christmas, the generosity of 30 sponsors knows no bounds! Sixty-four families have received the blessings of Christmas Hope, which included household items, groceries, hygiene products, clothing, shoes, coats, toys, bikes, and so much more. Congratulations, Ernesto!

We are excited to announce the closing of the last home in Tieton last week! Ernesto has worked hard to make his dream a reality and is now a proud homeowner.

This success is thanks to the entire team, from the front desk to those managing file submissions. A special thank you to the USDA staff for their underwriting and closing efforts and to Jorge, Gina, and Jairo at RCAC for their collaboration.

The greatest reward is seeing the joy on our client's faces as they achieve homeownership—something they once only dreamed of!

A big thank you to Yakima Federal Savings and Loan for your ongoing support.

The funds will aid our early efforts on an affordable housing project in Sunnyside, Washington featuring ~150 single-family homes and 300+ multi-family rental units, along with park space and a community building. All units will be affordable for low-income households.
