39% of our community members experiencing homelessness are “chronically homeless.” 🎒

Solving this requires unique strategies and commitments. 💡I welcome your ideas, thoughts and input! 🎤

Thank you to Justice Housing Yakima for hosting and showing the film “Beyond The Bridge.” An award-winning documentary that explores the root causes of homelessness and highlights proven, evidence-based solutions.

While I don’t agree 100% with everything in the film, it does a balanced approach of looking at permanent supportive housing as a solution for some of our most chronic homeless community members. The success is in the numbers.

At the end of the day, for someone who is chronically homeless, permanent supportive housing (PSH) with wraparound services, leads to the greatest positive outcome.

Thank you to the 100s of community members that showed up to watch the film, ask challenging questions and committed to being part of the solution.

Thank you Rep. Debra Manjarrez for putting forth this important bill. 👏🏘🏡🏠 Now its up to the Senate!

The bill achieves a shared goal of increasing access to safe modular housing and generally improving housing affordability. It will save time and money by allowing L&I to use third-party inspectors in other states.

A bill that would make it easier for factory-built homes and commercial structures to meet building standards was approved by the state House of Representatives.
