TIMES: 1:15 – 3:15 p.m.

OBJECTIVES:

 Provide a means for bilingual students to learn medical terminology in English and Spanish

 Identify and explain main functions of the organs and structures of the body systems

 Provide the basic principles of medical word building (English/Spanish) by defining the word roots/combining forms used to describe the body organs, structures, surgery, medical procedures, diagnostic tests, pharmacology

 Learn suffixes / prefixes related to medical words, AND build / analyze / understand the meaning of new medical words

 Utilize medical websites and encyclopedias for research, and learn the correct spelling / pronunciation of medical terms

Latino Grocery and Meat Store is seeking an Experienced Bilingual Meat Cutter

Must have experience working as a meat cutter. (Deli meat slicing or steak trimming work does not apply.)
- Must be able to communicate in Spanish with Spanish-speaking customers.
- Must have some English language skills.
- Must have knowledge of Mexican meat cuts and food preparation
- Ability and willingness to work a varied and flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.
- Must be a hard worker, a self-starter, a self-motivated worker, able to work independently, good work record/references, especially with respect to honesty and dependability.

IF you are interested in entering the medical field OIC of Washington will be able to provide you with a Free Medical Terminology course beginning August 259h thru September 8th. After completion we will assist you with finding full time employment.

OIC of Washington, employment and training program is gearing up for a new program year. We are looking for people who are interested at improving their lives by participating in employment and training opportunities.

This year we are offering training in medical terminology, medical interpreting, nursing assistant, business office procedures and other customized training.

In order to qualify for OIC you must have worked in agriculture or be a dependent of an agricultural worker, be legally entitled to work in the US, be within the poverty guideline and eager and willing to succeed. Join us at our weekly orientations on Tuesdays at 9:00 am to learn more of our program services, and how to enroll.
