Common Question Asked: Why is there a fee if there isn't a 24 hour cancellation notice before the appointment?
Answer: There is preparation involved in each polygraph. A polygraph business is not one that it is a walk-in type business. For each appointment the examiner usually arrives an hour prior to the appointment to get the equipment running and ready.
Also, often examiners try to schedule people around work schedules, so they often work at odd hours and get up early, or work late to accommodate the needs of the client. They also work on holidays at times when clients only have those days off.
By not cancelling the appointment, the examiner's time has been wasted. That said, yes there are extenuating circumstances. However, common courtesy would be to cancel as soon as you possibly can, instead of just deciding to not call or show up.
