☀️ As we wrap up August and our month-long series of heat-safety reminders, remember that hot weather can continue well beyond the end of the month.
Stay hydrated, limit strenuous outdoor activity during the hottest part of the day, wear lightweight clothing and take breaks in a cool or shaded area. Continue checking on children, older adults, neighbors and anyone who may be especially vulnerable to the heat.
Know the warning signs of heat cramps, heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Heat stroke is a medical emergency—call 911 immediately.
A little preparation and awareness can help everyone finish the summer safely!
