This morning at around 10am, Corporal Van Cleave responded to a report of an injured cat on East 3rd Street. The person who found it had no information on who owned it and found it at around 730 this morning in their driveway. Corporal Van Cleave was able to contain the cat and took it to the Newberg Vet Hospital. This afternoon a reckless driver was called in to dispatchers and was reported to have passed a bus on Hwy 47 near Cove Orchard at around 330pm today. It was reported that a child was attempting to cross the highway when the suspect passed multiple cars and the bus dropping off the student. The Yamhill Police Department is looking for additional witnesses and the parent/children involved. The driver was located, arrested and lodged at the Yamhill County Jail for charges including Reckless Driving, DUII Drugs, Reckless Endangering and Probation Violation. What a great night last night for Yamhill National Night Out! We raised a lot of money in the last few weeks based on your generous donations and want to say thank you! We will be hosting another Tip a Cop event with the Fireside Tavern on January 31st! Mark your calendars now, we hope to see you there!

It’s tonight!

Yamhill Police Department is fundraising for National Night Out.
On July 26th they will be at the Fireside Tavern (formerly Yamhill Bar & Grill) helping serve customers from 4pm - 9pm.

The Fireside has generously agreed to donate 50% of all proceeds during this time to National Night Out!! And the YPD will be collecting tips to add to the fund as well.

National Night Out is a free community-building event that enhances law enforcement and community relationships. It will be held on the first Tuesday in August.

Save the date and come on down to help support a great cause!
