Twenty students from across Suffolk County successfully completed the New York State Fire Officer 3 program today at the Suffolk County Fire Academy, and earning National Pro Board certification. This rigorous, advanced-level management program—aligned with NFPA 1021 Chapter 6, equips fire officers with the skills to lead in policy development, human resources, budgeting, intergovernmental relations, and departmental safety. This marks the first time the program has been delivered on Long Island by the New York State Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services Office of Fire Prevention and Control.
