Deputy Sheriffs from the Sheriff’s Office are currently hard at work in the Suffolk County Emergency Operations Center (EOC). Sheriff Toulon assigns Deputy Sheriffs to the EOC to provide a vital link between the Sheriff’s Office and Suffolk County Fire Rescue and Emergency Services during the winter storm. Working with other county, state, and local agencies, the Sheriff’s Office plays a vital role in countywide storm response and directing emergency operations.
Suffolk County remains under a blizzard warning until 6pm Monday and can expect to receive between 17 and 24 inches of snow from the storm, as per the U.S. National Weather Service (NWS).
Our Correction Officers, Deputy Sheriffs and professional staff will continue to work tirelessly to keep our residents safe throughout the duration of the storm.
Stay safe, Suffolk County! ❄️
