The heat is on (who remembers that song?)…according to our friends at the NWS, hot temperatures and high heat indices will occur for the next three days as strong upper level high pressure spreads over the area. The heat will ease late in the week as a cold front sags southwards.

🚑 Medic 81 is officially in service! 🚑

Last night at 8 PM, the new Medic 81 was placed in service in the frontline position, becoming the first-line ambulance protecting the citizens of Miami Township, the Village of Yellow Springs, and the Village of Clifton.
After two trips to Cincinnati to have the Stryker Power-LOAD stretcher system installed, our crews worked throughout the evening to stock and prepare the ambulance with all of the medical equipment and supplies needed to place it in service.
A lot of work goes into putting a new ambulance on the road, and our crews did an outstanding job getting Medic 81 ready to serve our community.

Medic 81 is ready to answer the call! 🚑

We’re proud to partner with our friends at the Yellow Springs Police Department to support this year’s Safety Village. Kindergarteners and first graders from Yellow Springs learned how to stay safe at home, around electricity, with traffic and pedestrians, on the bus, at the pool, and more!

Recently, your Miami Township Fire-Rescue crews participated in a vital bucket-truck and utility-pole rescue training session alongside our partners at the Village of Yellow Springs Public Works Department.

This annual training, conducted by American Municipal Power (AMP) Ohio, is for the Village's electric and utility teams. Because utility work presents unique hazards, this collaborative session equips our firefighters and the Village's crews with the critical information and specialized techniques needed to safely and efficiently rescue utility workers in an emergency.

Whether high up in a bucket or working around high-voltage lines, keeping our local workforce and community safe requires constant preparation. We are incredibly grateful to AMP Ohio for the excellent instruction and to the Village of Yellow Springs for hosting us, ensuring we are always ready to respond together!

At MTFR, fire, EMS and rescue can be a family affair. Over the years, we've had lots of siblings provide service to the community. Whether it was a bevy of Tripletts, a murder of Crocketts, or the infamous Tierney/Zwart combo, siblings were on the front lines. But recently, we celebrated a sibling first: two sets of siblings on the same call! Pictured L to R, Annessa and Ashlynn Stamper and Steffinie and Cassady Brewer. Go siblings! 📸 Mark Murphy, Sr.
