We’re super excited for our friends at the Westcott House !!! Congratulations to CET/ThinkTV Producers Nadya Ellerhorst and Rodney Veal, and the entire PBS production crew! We are so grateful to the artists Naysan McIlhargey, Tom Schiff, Vicki Rulli and Tom Heaphey for making this episode so special! And thank you to 115 guests who joined us for a special screening at the State Theater earlier this year. We appreciate you all!!!!!
We are excited to share that The Art Show’s Westcott House special produced by CET/ThinkTV has been selected as a 58th Public Media Award Honoree by the National Educational Telecommunications Association (NETA)! The Art Show team has been recognized in the Visual Arts Content category.
Winners will be announced on Sunday, September 13 at the NETA Conference in New Orleans. The PMAs honor the best of our members’ work in Community Engagement, Content, Education, and Marketing & Communications.

We’ve decided to extend our time at the old hardware store… thank you all for your support. We think the store will be a great place for gifts during the holidays ….so we hope to be around till then! Keep us in mind for gifts and stop by to see the Japanese study. We’re going to stay open later this Saturday for the art on the lawn … and we’re going to have live music for the art stroll on the 21st. Come see us!

If you weren’t able to make it to our Pop up in June, we’ve extended it through July! Please make a point to stop out. We’ve moved all the pots from our shop into this beautiful space of the old Hardware store. My friends, customers… YSHS graduates, please stop by… visit me. I keep telling everyone this theme may have been the most meaningful to me… of the 38 firings. Traveling to Japan lead to this study, and I am so thankful. We had maybe our best firing and the pots reflect that. Be sure to come out in the next few days. We start at 10 am at 254 Xenia Ave. in YELLOW springs.

It’s so exciting guys! We’re moving our kiln opening sale location to the old Ys hardware store. This is a temporary pop up sale from June 1-14(but we’ll be there till the end of the month!) please spread the word, tell all your friends… this could be a fun and beautiful display!
The pots coming out of the kiln look really good, and setting up all 101 set shapes is going to be a really fun challenge.

Friday afternoon, made it to the middle of chamber 1. Cone 12 is liquid, but the glazes seem to have held in place… mostly. There’s so many more glazes and shapes that still haven’t made it out of the kiln, so this excitement will last another 4-5 days! Remember everyone… all these pots will be on display and for sale at the old Ys hardware store downtown June 1-14.
