Saturday our department conducted cross training with Peel VFD and Leadhill VFD. Before the training we all were paged to a structure fire. With everyone having our equipment near by the fire was quickly extinguished with minimal damage to structure. Only pictures are of the water shuttle which consists of dumping tankers and refilling tankers from the engine.

The burn ban for our area has officially been lifted.

Please continue to use caution when burning, never leave a fire unattended, and make sure all fires are completely extinguished.

Today, the Lakeway Fire Department mourns the loss of a good man, a friend, and a valued part of our community.

Some people leave behind more than memories—they leave an impact on the people who had the privilege of knowing them. Johnny was one of those people, and he will be deeply missed.

Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, and all who loved him during this difficult time.

When its our monthly Training and its hot outside. We back training up till the evening to beat the heat. We setup our dump tank and Engine. Then we started dumping water from tanker and pumping with our engine, then to finish the night we filled our tankers from our holding tanks.

🔥 BURN BAN IN EFFECT MARION COUNTY 🔥

🔥Attention Marion County 🔥

The Lakeway Fire Department would like to remind everyone that a burn ban has been issued for Marion County, Arkansas.

With the current hot and dry conditions, fires can start quickly and spread faster than expected. Please do not conduct outdoor burning while the burn ban is in effect and use extra caution with anything that could create a spark or flame.

🚫 No outdoor burning
🔥 Use extreme caution around dry grass and vegetation
🚬 Never toss ci******es onto the ground
⛓️ Make sure trailer chains are secured and not dragging
🚗 Avoid parking hot vehicles or equipment over dry grass

One small spark can become a big fire. Please help us protect our neighbors, homes, property, and firefighters by taking the burn ban seriously.

Today we conducted ATFA training on Foam, Liquid and Gas fires in the classroom. We were joined by Harmon Fire Department and Nine Mile Ridge VFD. We had good day of training.

This evening we were paged out to assist Peel Fire Department with a Structure fire. We were joined by Pine Mountain Volunteer Fire and Summit Fire & Rescue to put this fire out.
