For the week ending 9/4, Deputies responded to seventy (70) calls for service. Of those, Deputies responded to four (4) domestic disturbances and completed thirteen (13) wellbeing checks. There were three (3) misdemeanor arrests made this week. Deputies assisted and/or worked on three (3) accidents and completed twenty-four (24) incident reports. There were eighteen (18) bailiff hours logged for the week.

CID Investigators opened one (1) felony and closed one (1) felony investigation. Investigators conducted five (5) interviews, four (4) investigative conferences, four (4) conference meetings, processed two (2) items of evidence, and logged seventy-six (76) hours of report preparation.

The Detention Center booked fourteen (14) inmates, released eighteen (18) and ended the week with a total of sixty-three (63) inmates.

The Marion County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) has an opening for an Investigator in the Criminal Investigation Division. The Investigator works under the general direction and supervision of the CID Lieutenant and is responsible for conducting follow-up investigations on criminal complaints and any other duties or assignments that may be made by a CID Lieutenant. This position is governed by law enforcement procedures, state and federal laws, and department policy and procedures.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS-Must have completed a law enforcement training academy, be CLEST certified, and if certified from an out of state law enforcement training academy, the applicant must be able to become CLEST certified within nine (9) months from date of hire. The applicant must have a minimum of three (3) years commissioned law enforcement experience. Previous experience as a Criminal Investigator is not required, but experienced candidates will be given preference. Interested applicants should submit a Marion County application for employment and resume’ to Chief Deputy Hollingsworth at the Marion County Sheriff’s Office. For the week ending 08/28, Deputies responded to seventy-nine (79) calls for service. Of those, Deputies responded to two (2) domestic disturbances and completed nine (9) wellbeing checks. There were seven (7) misdemeanors, and two (2) felony arrests made this week. Deputies assisted and/or worked on five (5) accidents and completed fourteen (14) incident reports. There were twenty (20) bailiff hours logged for the week.

This week, Marion County Sheriff’s Office sponsored an Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training (ALERRT), four (4) day, thirty - two (32) hour training event at the Baxter County Training facility in Midway. Training included Level 1 Active Shooter Training Monday and Tuesday, along with Active Attack Integrated Response (AIRR)training on Wednesday and Thursday. Area Law Enforcement Agencies that attended the training included fifteen (15) Deputies and Detention Officer’s from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, three (3) Officer’s from the Bull Shoals Police Department and one (1) SRO from the Flippin Police Department.

CID Investigators opened three (3) felony and closed seven (7) felony investigations. Investigators conducted eight ( 8 ) interviews, seven (7) investigative conferences, three (3) death investigations, six (6) investigative conferences, processed two (2) items of evidence, and logged eight-three (83) hours of report preparation.

The Detention Center booked twenty-one (21) inmates, released sixteen (16) and ended the week with a total of sixty-five (65) inmates.

There were five (5) misdemeanor, and two (2) felony arrests made this week. Deputies assisted and/or worked on five (5) accidents and completed twenty-nine (29) incident reports. There were twenty (20) bailiff hours logged for the week.

CID Investigators opened four (4) felony investigations, closed four (4) and four (4) death investigations were opened. Investigators conducted twelve (12) interviews, five (5) investigative conferences, three (3) crime scene searches, processed four (4) items of evidence, executed one (1) search warrant, and logged eighty-five (85) hours of report preparation.

The Detention Center booked nineteen (19) inmates, released sixteen (16) and ended the week with a total of sixty-two (62) inmates.

For the week ending 08/14, Deputies responded to eighty-four (84) calls for service. Of those, Deputies responded to four (4) domestic disturbances and completed four (4) wellbeing checks. There were four (4) misdemeanor, and two (2) felony arrests made this week. Deputies assisted and/or worked on two (2) accidents and completed twenty-six (26) incident reports. There were thirty-seven (37) bailiff hours logged for the week.

CID Investigators opened two (2) felony and closed one (1) felony investigations with two (2) felony arrests. One (1) death investigation was also opened and one (1) was closed. Investigators conducted seven (7) interviews, eleven (11) investigative conferences, one (1) crime scene search, processed five (5) items of evidence, executed one (1) search warrant, and logged thirty-two (32) hours of report preparation. Three (3) Investigators received forty (40) hours of training.

The Detention Center booked fifteen (15) inmates, released seventeen (17) and ended the week with a total of sixty (60) inmates.

For the week ending 08/7, Deputies responded to seventy-one (71) calls for service. Of those, Deputies responded to one (1) domestic disturbance and completed four (4) wellbeing checks. There were four (4) misdemeanor, and one (1) felony arrests made this week. Deputies assisted and/or worked on four (4) accidents and completed twenty-four (24) incident reports. There were eight and one half (8.5) bailiff hours and twenty (20) continuing education training hours logged for the week.

CID Investigators opened two (2) felony and closed two (2) felony investigations. One (1) misdemeanor investigation was opened and one (1) closed. One (1) death investigation was also opened. Investigators conducted twelve (12) interviews, nine (9) investigative conferences, three (3) crime scene searches, processed twenty-two (22) items of evidence, executed one (1) search warrant, and logged eighty-eight (88) hours of report preparation.

The Detention Center booked sixteen (16) inmates, released twenty-two (22) and ended the week with a total of sixty-two (62) inmates.

JOB ANNOUNCEMENT FOR DETENTION OFFICER

The Detention Officer works under the general direction and supervision of the Jail Administrator and Detention Center Supervisor, and is responsible for booking in/out, monitoring, and supervising the inmates at the Marion County Detention Center. Separate specific duty assignments may be given to each Detention Officer on each shift. The person holding the position of Detention Officer must successfully complete the basic jail standards course offered by the Arkansas Law Enforcement Training Academy as well as the ACIC Computer Terminal Operations Course through the Arkansas Crime Information Center (ACIC) within twelve (12) months of employment. Applicants must be at least eighteen (18) years of age and be able to pass a thorough background investigation as well as a physical and psychological examination. This position is governed by Detention Center policies and procedures, as well as state and federal laws.
