K9 Scully’s Retirement – A Badge of Honor for a Loyal Partner
Today, June 1, 2026, we proudly celebrate the retirement of K9 Scully. After years of dedicated service, Scully officially closes this chapter and begins a well-deserved retirement. He always approached the work with energy and pride, even today when Sgt. Pope arrived to take him from the kennel—Scully looked at his partner, paused at the door, and decided, “Not today—I’m not going in.” He’s earned every moment of this new chapter, and we couldn’t be more grateful for his work.
Scully contributed to countless successful operations, protecting our community and assisting his handlers.
Apprehensions and seizures: valuable work on the street safeguarding lives and property.
Drug interdiction: helped remove pounds of illegal drugs from the streets.
Team effort: served alongside multiple handlers, building lasting partnerships and trust.
Lifelong impact**: a loyal partner to the Yemassee Police Department and to every officer who trained with him.
Memorable moments**: many stories that exemplify his spirit, drive, and teamwork.
What’s Next for Scully
A well-earned retirement spent by a loving family and in a comfortable home environment.
