Like I have for many years, I was proud to attend the annual Indian Flag Raising Ceremony at Yonkers City Hall. 🇮🇳

It was wonderful to see so many friends and familiar faces come together to celebrate Indian culture, heritage, and the many contributions of the Indian community here in Yonkers.

A special thank you to Harry Singh for once again taking the lead in organizing this meaningful celebration and proudly showcasing Indian culture in our city each year.

🇮🇳 Celebrating 80 Years of Indian Independence 🇮🇳

As an Indian immigrant who is proud to call America home, Indian Independence Day will always hold a special place in my heart.

India is home to one of the world’s oldest and most influential civilizations—a civilization that has contributed to mathematics, science, medicine, philosophy, commerce, literature, and culture for thousands of years.

And in just 80 years as an independent nation, India has emerged as the world’s largest democracy and a global force in technology, medicine, engineering, science, business, and innovation.

Today, Indians and the Indian diaspora are making their mark across the world—from doctors, engineers, scientists, educators, and entrepreneurs to leaders and CEOs of some of the world’s most influential companies. 🌎

As an immigrant to the United States, I’m grateful to carry the heritage of one great democracy while contributing to another. 🇮🇳🇺🇸

I am proud of my Indian roots, proud of how far India has come, and excited for what lies ahead.

Happy Independence Day, India! 🇮🇳

I had a great time at the Annual Westchester Republican Barbecue, reconnecting with Republican leaders, grassroots supporters, and friends from across our county.

Gatherings like this are a reminder that unity matters. New York has been under one-party rule for far too long, and restoring balance and accountability in Albany will take all of us working together.

Republicans and like-minded friends who believe in safer communities, affordability, opportunity, and common-sense government need to stay engaged—and most importantly, turn out and vote.

As this race heats up, we’ll need your help. Campaigns are won by people willing to step up: knocking on doors, making phone calls, attending events, talking with neighbors, and helping us reach voters throughout the district.

Every volunteer. Every phone call. Every conversation. Every vote. It all matters.

Thank you to everyone who made the barbecue such a great event. I’m proud to stand with so many people who believe we can bring balance, accountability, and common sense back to Albany.

Let’s unite. Let’s get to work. And let’s fight for a better New York. 🇺🇸

It was an honor to celebrate my Indian heritage at the India Day festivities at Kensico Dam.

One of the things I love most about India is that while it is one nation, it may as well be a continent of nations. Every state, language, cuisine, tradition, and festival offers something new to learn. The depth and diversity of Indian culture is a lifelong journey, and that’s what makes it so special.

As one united nation, India has also contributed so much to the world. Beyond its rich history and culture, generations of Indians have excelled as immigrants, making remarkable contributions in healthcare, engineering, science, technology, education, and business. It’s no coincidence that so many of the world’s leading CEOs were born in India or are of Indian heritage. Across South Asia as a whole, we’re also seeing more leaders rise to the highest levels of government, with this decade alone seeing people of Indian and South Asian heritage leading or competing to lead some of the world’s most influential nations.

I was especially proud to campaign alongside my fellow South Asians, Saritha Komatireddy and Bebe Ahmed, as we continue working to build a better New York and increase South Asian and Indian representation in the communities we proudly call home.

I had a great time celebrating America's 250th Birthday alongside Anthony J. Merante , Brandon Jason Neider, and so many of the Republican candidates on the ballot this year.

As a legal immigrant from India, it's an incredible honor to celebrate the country that has given me so many opportunities. That's exactly why I believe it's worth fighting to protect.

We're stepping up because New York deserves better than one-party rule. Our state doesn't have a revenue problem—it has a spending problem. Families, small businesses, and the middle class are being squeezed, and too many New Yorkers are leaving for states that offer greater opportunity.

It's time to restore balance, accountability, and fiscal responsibility in Albany. I believe we can build a safer, stronger, and more affordable New York, but it starts by electing leaders who are willing to make responsible decisions and put hardworking New Yorkers first.

Florida has more people than New York, no state income tax, a budget less than half the size and has still managed to cut spending while its population continues to grow.

That is what responsible government looks like.

Fast Facts:

🔷Florida: 23.46 million residents

🔺New York: 20.00 million residents

Florida has roughly 3.46 million more people than New York.

Yet the difference in spending is staggering:

🔺New York FY 2026 Budget: approximately $277 billion

🔷Florida FY 2026-27 Budget: approximately $114.5 billion

Florida has kept its rainy day fund fully funded, tripling it from about $1.5 billion in 2019 to the constitutional maximum of $5 billion. The state has also reduced spending, cut government positions, pursued efficiency savings and continues to push major taxpayer relief.

Meanwhile, New York’s budget keeps climbing:

FY 2020: $177.0B

FY 2021: $177.5B

FY 2022: $208.9B

FY 2023: $220+ B

FY 2024: $230 B

FY 2025: $239B

FY 2026: $277B

New York does not have a revenue problem. New York has a spending problem.

While states like Florida are proving that government can live within its means, cut waste and protect taxpayers, New York continues to raise taxes, increase spending and drive families and businesses out.

The contrast could not be clearer.

Responsible government lowers costs, controls spending and respects taxpayers.

Albany should take note.

I celebrated America 250 with our local senior citizens at an Independence Day party hosted by MPAC at the Bajart Post on McLean Avenue. A great event where sponsors of MPAC covered the food and open bar.
