🍎 It was a bright first day at Martin Luther King Jr. Academy (MLKA)! 💙

Superintendent Dr. Soler and Associate Superintendent Dr. Hernandez were thrilled to see students and staff kicking off the new school year together.

This year also marks an exciting new chapter for Principal Morano, who joins MLKA after serving as an assistant principal at Lincoln High School. We’re excited to welcome him to his new role!

✨The new school year is officially underway, and it’s already off to a strong start!

Mayor Mike Spano and Superintendent Dr. Soler joined students at Yonkers Middle High School on the first day of school to celebrate this exciting new beginning.

The warm welcome, complete with hugs and smiles from administrators and staff alike, was a beautiful reminder that there’s nothing quite like the that makes Yonkers Public Schools so special. 🎉

📚✨ Yonkers Public Schools Teaching Assistants (TAs) returned last week, engaging in four hands-on professional learning workshops designed to strengthen their instructional toolbox.

They explored Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) and learned effective Tier 2 and Tier 3 academic support strategies to prepare for a successful school year.
