📚 School still may be out, but parents, you still have homework. Before you buy your child an e-bike, make sure it's actually a legal e-bike. 🚲

Not every bike marketed as an "e-bike" is a legal e-bike in California. Some are actually electric motorcycles (e-motos) that can reach speeds up to 60 mph and are legally prohibited on public streets, bike lanes, and trails.

Before you buy, you will want to know:
✔️ Is it a legal Class 1, 2, or 3 e-bike?
✔️ How fast does it go?
✔️ Has it been modified or can it be?
✔️ Where is it legal to ride?
✔️ What California and local City laws apply?
✔️ Does it require a license, registration, or insurance?

The wrong purchase can have serious consequences. Violations may result in citations, impoundment, and lasting legal consequences for both the parent and the rider.

🚧 Traffic Advisory: Lemon Drive and Imperial Highway

Final improvements are coming to the Lemon Drive and Imperial Highway intersection! Crews will pave and restore the roadway on Thursday, July 30, as the Storm Drain Project nears completion.

🕤 Lane closures: 9:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
🚗 Imperial Highway will first be reduced to one lane in each direction. Crews will then reduce northwest-bound Imperial Highway to two lanes and eastbound Lemon Drive to one lane.
⚠️ Please expect delays, use caution in the work zone, and allow extra travel time.

These improvements will provide better drainage, help prevent water from collecting on the roadway, and create safer driving conditions.

🚧 Traffic Advisory: Annual Pavement Preservation Project

Road improvements are coming to Yorba Linda Boulevard! As part of the City's Annual Pavement Preservation Project, crews will be working between Yorba Ranch Road and New River Road from Wednesday, July 29, through Friday, August 7.

🕗 Lane closures: 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.
🚗 Access to nearby cross streets will remain open throughout construction.
⚠️ Please expect delays, use caution in the work zone, and consider alternate routes when possible.

These improvements will help preserve the roadway, provide a smoother ride, and extend the life of Yorba Linda Boulevard.

💧 TIP out standing water from flowerpots, buckets, birdbaths, and other containers.
🗑️ TOSS unused items that can collect water and become mosquito breeding grounds.
🧴 TAKE ACTION by wearing EPA-registered insect repellent and reporting mosquito activity.

A few minutes of prevention can make a big difference in reducing mosquitoes and helping prevent mosquito-borne illnesses.
