🚧 S. Pine Street Stormwater Drain Improvement Complete! 🚧

York Haven Borough is pleased to share that the stormwater drain improvement on S. Pine Street were completed this morning, and the road is now OPEN! ✅

The completed work included:

• Replacing the bricks inside the drain that had eroded over time
• Removing accumulated sediment and debris
• Reinforcing the area where the stormwater drain connects to the roadway
• Completing repairs to help improve the overall stability and function of the drainage system

Thank you to everyone for your patience and cooperation while the road was closed and this important infrastructure work was completed.

We also extend our appreciation to everyone involved in getting these repairs completed and S. Pine Street reopened safely for our residents. 👏

Just a friendly reminder of the roadwork being completed on South Pine Street this weekend. 🚧

🚧 SOUTH PINE STREET ROAD CLOSURE 🚧

York Haven Borough will complete storm-drain repairs on South Pine Street on Saturday, August 29, and Sunday, August 30, 2026.

📍 Closure area: South Pine Street between Dunkle Street and the alley behind 91 South Front Street.

South Pine Street will be closed to traffic in this area on both days. Please plan an alternate route and use caution near the work zone.

Shelter in Place has been lifted. Thank you to everyone that shared the information to keep our community safe.

ACTIVE POLICE INCIDENT

UPDATE- 12:05 PM: Shelter-in-place order has been lifted.

There is currently an active police incident in Newberry Township near the Conewago Inn on York Haven Rd. Police department is requesting anyone in the area to shelter in place and everyone else please avoid the area!

Stay aware and safe. Shelter in place. There are two suspects on foot. As YHB receives updates we will keep our residence updated.

UPDATE, 12:15 PM -- the shelter-in-place for the incident has been lifted. Newberry Township Police continue to investigate.

📢 A MESSAGE TO YORK HAVEN BOROUGH RESIDENTS AND PROPERTY OWNERS

York Haven Borough is working to improve the consistent administration and enforcement of its ordinances. We recognize that some ordinances may not have been actively or consistently enforced in the past. However, these requirements remain in effect and are intended to protect the health, safety and quality of life of everyone in our community.

Areas of current attention include:

Rental property licensing, registration and inspections
Property maintenance and applicable building code requirements
Excessive weeds and overgrown vegetation
Accumulated trash, rubbish and debris
Unreasonable noise and other disturbances
Unsafe, damaged or deteriorating structures
Abandoned, unlicensed or inoperable vehicles
Fireworks, open burning and other prohibited activities
Additional conditions identified in the Borough’s nuisance and other ordinances

The Borough’s goal is to achieve compliance NOT simply to issue penalties. When violations are identified, the Borough will reasonably work with residents and property owners to explain the requirements, establish appropriate correction timelines and help identify practical solutions whenever possible. Serious safety hazards, repeated violations or failures to respond may require further enforcement action.

We respectfully ask for patience and grace throughout this process. York Haven Borough does not employ full-time administrative or code-enforcement staff. Our staffing, time and resources are limited, and complaints must be reviewed, prioritized and addressed as resources permit.

Many upgrades and positive changes have occurred, and continue to occur, throughout the Borough. Building a safer, cleaner and stronger community takes time, cooperation and patience. We are doing our best to respond to concerns, address complaints fairly and work with residents toward reasonable solutions.
