The township is pleased to announce that Senator Dawn Keefer and Representative Joe D'Orsie will be opening a joint satellite office in Manchester Township on Thursday, Aug. 20, at the Manchester Township Municipal Building.

The office will be open on the third Thursday of each month from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., giving residents more convenient access to constituent services. Staff will be available to assist with property tax/rent rebates, PennDOT paperwork, birth and death certificates, veterans assistance and other state-related services.

Manchester Township is hiring for a Public Works Department Crew member. This position performs a variety of duties involved in the public works department, which may include utilization of many crafts on the site of highway maintenance, park maintenance, sewer maintenance, or special projects as required.

Qualified candidates will possess a knowledge of construction methods and principles and be able to work in peak times and in outside temperatures and conditions. Candidates must possess a high school education or equivalent. A valid driver's license is also required as well as the ability to secure a CDL (if not already licensed) through the township's sponsored training program.

The township provides a comprehensive benefits program upon hiring which includes health insurance, dental and vision benefits, paid time off, pension plan with township match, uniforms and other essential apparel, life insurance, and short term disability.

The hours are Monday - Friday from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm with occasional evening and weekend hours for special projects and emergencies. Starting pay is $23.00/hour with increases within the first year.

A community AED was installed at Cousler Park thanks to the Peyton Walker Foundation and sponsorship by Wellspan Health. The Peyton Walker Foundation was established 19 years ago in memory of Peyton Walker who suffered Sudden Cardiac Arrest.

The ribbon cutting yesterday was attended by Danelle Miller, Peyton Walker Foundation Coordinator; Ashley Footitt, Manager Non-invasive Cardiology at Wellspan Health; Aysa Urich, Community Engagement Lead at Wellspan Health; Nate Lankford, Manchester Township Recreation Director; Tim James, Manchester Township Manager; and Craig Jacoby, Manchester Township Recreation Commission Chair.

Manchester Township is honored to be one of the sites chosen by the Peyton Walker Foundation and Wellspan Health for this life saving AED.

Are you looking for community service hours or would like to volunteer? The township will be holding our second annual Community Clean Up Day on Saturday, April 25th from 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.

Safety equipment will be provided. All participants will meet at the township office on 3200 Farmtrail Road at 8:00 a.m. and will then leave with their roadside assigned team.
