We, SCREA Members attended AEA/AERA Retiree Day at the State House in Montgomery, AL. We met with Senator Bobby Singelton and discussed a cost of living raise. Fellow retirees we need you to join AERA! Your membership matters!

Hightower Memorial Library celebrates Black History Month! We share the theme “Black Resistance and equality “. Please come out and share in learning about our ancestors. We will read you a story, listen to your story, check you out books. Whatever you want we will try to provide it. We are opened til 5pm on Tuesday for the month of February. Please check us out! We are happy to announce that we will be open until 5pm., on Tuesday February 14, 2023 to accommodate the students who need to use the library during the month of February. This will occur each Tuesday only for the month of February. Thanks

Hightower Memorial Library ”Treats” York West End Students on Halloween, October 31, 2022, Hightower Memorial Library gave treats to over 65 or 70 students at York West End Junior High School. These students couldn’t come to the library, so we went to them. We will be doing more partnering and reaching out to the schools and communities. We solicit your continued support and library usage. We have many books, computers, computer programs, and ideas to support your everyday learning and need. “Check is out!”
