The Secretary of the York College Republican Club is Haley Bricker. Haley is currently a sophomore at York College who is majoring in Nursing and minoring in Spanish. She plans to further her education by becoming a nurse practitioner and to one day, serve as an Army nurse. Haley is also the Vice President of the Do Something club, a club focused on volunteering. She is active in her hometown as well, volunteering for Habitat for Humanity and the Salvation Army. Haley hopes that the Republican club will promote young people to become more active and informed citizens.

To kick off this week of action we will be holding a Phone Bank tomorrow from 6PM-8PM. We will be making calls to help get our Republican Leaders elected! There will be refreshments provided. Also whoever makes the most phone calls by the end of the night will receive a free gift card to Rutters! See you tomorrow at Humanities 204 at 6:00.

Today we will hear from our Treasurer Will Shanklin. Here is what Will has to say about himself and his vision for the year.

“My name is Will Shanklin. I am a Senior Entrepreneurship and Innovation major at York College from Philadelphia, PA. I spent my summer as a Business Development Intern for United Electric Supply and am now a Warehouse Supervisor. My interest in politics began my freshman year at York, and I have since volunteered on and run several local campaigns, both in Central PA and back home in Philadelphia. With my position, I hope to further engage the York College community in the political realm, regardless of partisanship.”

Meet our Vice-President Morgan Fryar. Morgan is a senior at York College of Pennsylvania. She is majoring in Human Services and has a minor of Applied Youth Development. She is a member of the York County Young Republicans. Morgan is originally from New Jersey, but plans to stay in Pennsylvania post graduation. Morgan is very excited of all the opportunities in the year ahead and is excited to get to work!

Over the course of the next few days we will be sharing information about each of our executive board members. Then throughout the year we will be highlighting individual CRs to allow the community to better understand who we are at the York College Republican Club.

The President of the York College Republican Club is Nick Shields. Nick is currently a senior at York College majoring in Political Science. Nick recently had the privilege to intern in Congressman Scott Perrys D.C. and District Office where he was able to work with constituents and aid in the daily function of the office. Nick began working with the CRs in 2016 when he founded the College Republican Chapter at Valley Forge Military College. From there he went on to serve as the Outreach Director for the Pennsylvania Federation of College Republicans (PAFCR.) During this time he was able to aid in setting up 12 new chapters across the state. Now he is currently serving as Vice-Chairman for PAFCR. Nick was also the Student Body President at Valley Forge Military College. In addition to his duties within the CRs, Nick serves as a 2LT in the PA Army National Guard where he is a Platoon Leader. He is looking forward to a busy year and ready to get to work!
